Do whatever you like. You have no sway whatsoever in a team's fortunes anyway. When a team you like wins something the experience of joy is a completely vicarious thing. It's obviously going to be a much more meaningful experience for those involved on an individual level, which means taking flack for the team, defending the team, spending money on them and following their progress over a long period. But that doesn't mean that your experience is in anyway less vicarious.

He's right though. If you choose/get given a club when your a youngun and their successful... who cares. If you genuinely are passionate about them and are prepared to support through whatever no-one should give a shit. It's better than going through the motions with the local club to you because some pretentious idiot on a the internet made up some rules and told you to stop supporting the club you love.

Today was it? Shit man, I remember that so well. I was 8 or something and it was one of those "reality" moments i.e. life isnt all fun and games that you have when you're a kid.

96 people. At a football match! Its still shocking and horrendously sad.

On a serious note - I've read a lot about it and Im still at a loss as to exactly what justice people are looking for regarding what happened that day?

Can anyone explain? Was it not a combination of lack of police control, the stadium design and fans with no tickets trying to enter?

I think the issues mainly revolve around the old bill and others trying to deflect the blame that the old bill have for some of what happened away from them and onto the fans. It started with the bollocks the Scum published, and has continued ever since. Kelvin MacKenzie - despite the Scum having published an apology for the words of his it published - is still repeating that same guff and saying it's truth.

And so the families of the victims still feel they've been treated unjustly; after all, while there's certainly an amount of guilt for what happened with some of the fans who were in that stand that day, it's very unlikely that any of that guilt was with the actual victims - who were people at the front of the stand and in the stand long before any ticketless fans might have got in and which added to what happened.

So ... two great matches this weekend....

Utd vs City - I can't make up my mind which way this will go. Utd's dodgy away form says that City must have a chance, tho Tevez being out is a big blow to them. If it was a match that could be drawn I'd probably plump for that, but as it's not I'm going to go for a Utd win

Arsenal vs Liverpool - Liverpool's form against the 'big' teams is good, so they must be in with a shout. But Arsenal are fighting for the league and this is a match they need to win if they're going to top Utd. If there's a winner then I reckon it'll be Arsenal, but I think a draw is more likely.

Given my form with predictions, if you want to make some money, bet against what I've said.

The list where it's "gone missing" is huge, with the most high profile recent-ish case being the shooting of Jean Charles Menezes.

I'm off to Wemnbley having won some tickets at work (I work for E.ON). Full Club Wembley ticket with a free bar and a 3 course meal. It's gonna be strange sat with the prawn sandwich brigade. I have never seen United play since the 80's so hoping Scholes plays so I get to see him before he retires, even as a Liverpool fan (I say fan, more a 80's bandwagon jumper )I never tire of watching him, by far the best player the Premiership has seen in my opinion.
