he still posts occasionally in the console thread, and you see him lurking about. but he says there's not much point being here seen as he won't be doing fests for the forseeable. he's got another kid too, few weeks/months old? dunno if you're aware of that...

And I was wondering if Blackburn has been bought by an Indian family/firm because of the number of originally-Indian families around that area? Tho I could be completely wrong about them being 'Indian', I'm unsure of the exact background of the immigrants (and their British-born descendents) from that part of the world.

Ah, well my hearty congrats to him if he sees this.

You don't catch me in many muddy fields either, but I don't see why I shouldn't post here :whistles:

Well the footy just topped off a rubbish week for me. No team that has any real chance of winning the league should ship 3 goals in 1 half, especially at home. The annoying thing is that none of the goals were good, we just let them back into the game. Stunningly disappointing. Heaps a lot of pressure on tonights game against Braga, must say i'm worried.

well as much as i hate to say it, i'm seeing neils point regarding his thoughts on ngog doing much better for a team like sunderland. (still don't think he'd do better than bent though)

but wellbeck has to be the worst striker i've ever seen in a man utd shirt. yet he seems to be doing the business at sunderland at the minute. whether he can keep it up is another thing.

Interesting discussion on times podcast how unusual it is that no managers have been sacked yet. When you look at the league table you can see why. There arent many clubs below where you would expect and those who are eg liverpool, everton, fulham, villa etc are only a win or 2 away from doing well. Surely Grant should get his marching orders though.

Wellbeck is only 19 and showed promise in a united shirt.....He is obviously progressing well at Sunderland.

To say he is the worst striker you have seen in a Utd shirt is a bit over the top considering the amount of games he actually played and his age.

who's been worse in the past say 15 years? if ferguson thought he was good enough, then age doesn't matter. he looked like a turkey every single time i saw him for man utd.

did the likes of ebanks blake play like wellbeck did?

Everton gave us a fine compliment by playing a high pressure kick-it-up-in-the-air game. It almost worked for them as well.

I'd have been moaning about Bent and Wellbeck not getting the three points at the end had it not been for the mighty Beckford.

actually, i'm just looking at his record and he's scored 3 in 14 for sunderland. 3 being in the past 2 games. so 12 games firing blanks? and his preston record wasn't all that great either.

can i take back what i said?

    • Attended a gig at Piece Hall for the first time on Saturday (Opeth), the music was excellent. Just a couple of points on the organisation & the event itself. - Getting through the gates seemed to take longer than required. I was at the South gate about 30 mins before stated start time and still missed first half of Katatonia. - Coffee stall was serving cold coffee later on. - Lots of the crowd seemed to be more interested in chatting than listening to the music. Doubly annoying when sound levels for Opeth seemed quieter than Paradise Lost, is this usual for the venue due to curfew etc? Luckily there was enough room so I could move close to the front of the crowd and couldn't hear drunken chatter anymore 🙂
    • Tickets will just be sent out via email; going out next Monday 10th August apparently.
    • That's how I'd see it, either or, 3 BST rules her out.
    • Surely the chances of Madonna doing three+ nights at BST and also Glastonbury is pretty low? I know Elton did (2?) nights at BST but it seems like it’s one or the other at this point?   A shame. I think she would be absolutely brilliant - plus, unfortunately, given that she isn’t as able as she was means this could be a now or never situation?
    • All of these were published in July of their respective year. Appreciate the festival is a little later than normal but it must surely be live in the next 48 hours? The first events start in five days! 🤣
