if you're not really into your music (aka Radio One is your source of discovering bands) then you won't know who The Flaming Lips are

none of the people i'm going with know who they are (so if U2 pull out i'm gonna have a hard time convincing my friends to come see them with me)

they're a huge huge band with music lovers, but outside of that they're fairly obscure. not your typical household name, if you will

You are a perfect example of the general public of Great Britain in 2010. You are a terrific spokesman for the masses.

I am absolutely overjoyed we dont have similar musical tastes.

I have absolutely no doubt our tastes in film, television, politics and books (actually, I doubt you have read a book unforced in your entire life) are wildly different also.

It's because you're a thicko you see. Just like the vast majority of the general public.

Yaaaaaaaawn

I'm in my 30's now and have very little time for the DJ's and most of the music they play but to say that if you listen to Radio 1 you're not into music is just bollocks.

God forbid if they scrap the licence fee and only put commercial radio on.

Your cooler than thou 'my mates don't even know who the Flaming Lips are' grates as well.

Meh!

    • It's the photo that keeps on giving;
    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.
