But more recent festivals will naturally get more votes because they're in peoples' minds more.

2003 had pretty much my three favourite bands ever at that time (REM, Radiohead, Doves) along with De La Soul, Suede, Supergrass, Flaming Lips, Coral, Jimmy Cliff, Sigur Ros, Kings of Leon. Brilliant.

I think you can only objectively tell how good a lineup was, with some degree of retrospect. Some people seem 'big' at the time when maybe they weren't all that, and vice versa. I think 94 wins. Voted for that. Its freakin awesome. Although you can guarantee that if these boards were about then there would have been divided opinion and a bagfull of whingers who didn't like it. Best i've been to, probably 04. Although I have a feeling 2010 might top it. Hope so.

2003 for me

It was my first year so wasnt sure what to expect. What I got:

REM: Got over-excited on the Friday and was in no fit state to tramp the 50 meters from our tent to the Pyramid. It was so hot me and my other half dragged our bed onto open ground outside our tent and had an incredible time floating on our bed, smoking, drinking and drifting in and out of reality whilst listening to REM. Still is one of my most magical festival memories

Radiohead: Had not been much of a fan but was persuaded down to watch them. F**K me, I dont think the hairs on my arms went down during the whole set, I was absolutely blown away, the sound quality was incredible and I was totally gone!

Moby: What can I say about this set? Again I knew his music but this didnt prepare me for how much I would enjoy this. My crowd went from leaping around like is was 1989 to holding hands and swaying..............and then he played Creep and was in my heart forever.

Not very eloquent but this year had the total package for me :P

2003. REM, Radiohead, Moby, Manics (before they turned shit), Supergrass, SFA, Doves, Turin Brakes, Suede, Beth Orton, The Coral, Damien Rice, The Music, Inspiral Carpets, Kings Of Leon. Some of my favourite acts of all time in there. Would have also liked to have seen Polyphonic Spree and De La Soul.

I didn't go but still remember looking at the line up and wishing I'd made the effort to get a ticket. Some of the performances I caught on TV blew me away and I kicked myself all weekend for not going. Still do.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
