yeah but the point is when these bands headlined they had strong other headliners to counteract the "risk".... Razorlight had Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Smashing Pumpkins, Rage had The Killers and Metallica (not that Rage's hype needed any propping up, that set of headliners was really strong), Franz Ferdinand had Muse (at their peak) and Pearl Jam, The Darkness had The White Stripes (at their peak) and Green Day (again at their peak).

I just see having one risky band and one smaller band headline as kinnda weak.

Well I can't say I'm too excited about the names being thrown about. The Strokes are good but past thier prime IMO even although they've not been around that long. MCR have some great songs but I don't know if they'll translate well into a headline performance.

I'm just hoping for Suede on the Radio 1 to at least balance things out a bit.

just made an account to say my opinion. I plan to go Reading next year and it will be my first festival, as much as it will be real fun disregardless of who plays the Friday line-up is terrible. I wouldn't wanna see the first four bands that night and Slipknot whenever, it's just tasteless metal and sold-out whatever. I'm hoping Radiohead make a new release then they might play but The Strokes would be good, also hoping The Maccabees will play (them having a new album soon) and possibly The Streets (new album too) both on the NME stage. SOAD would be a very nice addition and I would really like to see The Dillinger Escape Plan but they seem abit random, even on the small lock-up stage thingy, is there any reason why you think they will play? :)

I'd welcome DEP to Reading. People seem to forget, within the last 5 years we've had Slayer, Mastodon, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, with Slipknot and, although weak to my point, Avenged Sevenfold both booked to play. Reading does have the capability to book heavy acts, which they will hopefully embrace more this year.

Also how f**king awesome would it be if At The Drive-In reformed randomly and headlined haha and yeah (I have no idea to tag Fevtival Freak's post here haha) it would nice to have a good mix. Also imagine if Battles played haha they wouldn't fit really but that'd be immense
