This is how they opened their Wembley gigs a couple of years back. Watch the whole thing - or if you can;t be bothered, form about 3.45 should do. I wasnt there but got the DVD (youtube doesnt really do justice) and sat glued to it for the duration - recommend finding other on youtube. I can't wait!!

If this doesnt fire your rockets then maybe don't bother... (and you have no soul :P )

apologies if this has been posted already - i can't be bothered to read 10 pages of posts! and i would have embedded but i cant use the full editor.

godwins...

lung wart....

:P:P:P

Thanks this thread has cheered me up alot!

Anyway, i did like Muse, first 2 albums were great...but then to me they went sooo winey, screachy and all 'effect/filter after filter on their guitars.

I watched the above vid, and did enjoy...but its unlikley ill be there watching, ive seen them before (donkeys ago) and wasnt that impressed to be honest. :P

Saying all that, i dont really feel 'let down' with their slot, i dont expect to want to see all headliners, and in the past there have been years ive not wanted to see any.

oh well :(

They are as over-exposed as the Foo Fighters or KOL at the moment and I can't help thinking that their best is past them & that theyre headlining again two years and one album too late... Could well be wrong in fairness.

I can look beyond the pomposity every now and then however and enjoy some of their stuff though... the keening vocal on Black Hole/the riff to Cydonia/the pisstake on Italian TV to name but three likeable things bout 'em. Certainly if The Killers ( :P ) can headline the Saturday night Muse certainly can.

I won't be there but I'm delighted for their fans as I'm sure they'll put on a superb show.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
