You know what? F*ck off! If that line-up doesn't get you going you're looking at the wrong estival. Stick to Leeds, or maybe go to IOW to see Jay Z and The Strokes.

And TCV are pretty f*cking awesome 2nd headliners. Velvet Revolver second headlined, no reason TCV shouldn't.

After all the hype that Copping came out with pre Xmas I'm a bit underwhelmed myself, AC/DC and TCV apart its pretty average for me. Wolfmother were never a Download band even before 2 of there 3 members left.

I think Sonisphere has the edge so far though both festivals have a lot of bands to announce.

I don't see why Download don't just announce the 3 headliners? Surely everyone who wanted to see AC/DC would have done that last year? I saw them twice myself and as good as they were I wouldn't be paying £180 to see them and TCV who were also really good when I saw them at Leeds and Blackpool. I don't think that it will sell out off what has been announced so far.

Looks like it will be Knebworth for me and a Friday ticket for Download.

Its a bit Meh to me so far.

AC/DC are a great headliner of course, but I'm not really a massive fan of theirs anyways so that isn't enough.

Megadeth are a good addition, but I'll see them at Soni Poland a few days after Download anyways.

Stone Temple Pilots are an awesome addition but they alone aren't enough for me to get too excited, plus I'm hoping they'll do a tour here anyways seeing as they havnt been to the UK since reforming afaik.

Them Crooked Vultures are really great but I saw them at their own gig where they played their entire album, plus an unreleased song, so unless they release a new album anytime soon, I'm in no rush to see them again as the set will be near enough identicle (probably shorter).

The rest aren't anything that excites me, so heres hoping the rest of the lineup is better than this (for my taste anyways). SOAD or Soundgarden, or Pearl Jam etc... would be nice.

Who was the guy with Zane Lowe who doesnt reckon Soundgarden will play....not a guy with inside knowledge i hope? hopefully he just works with Radio1 with zane. Please Baby Jesus or Elmo, whichever one of u is currently in control up there please please please let Soundgarden play!!

AC/DC - Headlining - Maybe not a surprise but I assure you this will be nothing short of incredible. When I got tickets for Manchester I thought it'd be my only chance to see them live, seeing them at Donington will be something else.

Motorhead - Reckon they'll play mid-afternoon. 70k people just waiting to sing....'And don't forget the joker'

Wolfmother - Meh

Stone Temple Pilots - Awesome booking & a real surprise. Scott Weiland is one of the best frontmen I've ever seen. Adds weight to the rumours of a grunge themed day. Porbably Soundgarden? Still praying for Pearl Jam (I'm so gay for Vedder)

Bullet For My Valentine - Saw them at Leeds 08', thought they were really boring. Hopefully headlining 2nd against AC/DC

Them Crooked Vultures - see Wolfmother

Deftones - Like their early stuff, never seen them but heard they're poor live?

Megadeth - Really need to do some revision on Megadeth, off to the library tomorrow to hire a shit load of MD CD's.

Volbeat - ??

    • Cool, if potentially completely exhausting, idea.
    • We don't have any choice but I don't need a t-shirt for it! 🙂    On the bright side, it gets it out of the way for a nice 5 year run... notwithstanding wars, new contagious diseases and apocalypse.
