Where to get the best view of the whole festival.

Taking a couple of virgins next year and I didn't get to see it for myself this year so where's the best spot to get a view of the whole site?

I want it to be one of the first things they see.

Stone Circle! What you do is you walk up there, go straight up the hill and make sure they don't turn around until they get right near the top. Preferably around sunset too. Though it's spectacular any time of the day.

Further up the hill from Pennards/The Park, where all the flags are. Definitely the best view, but I'd say it's better once everyone has arrived rather than first thing. It's pretty special at night too with all the lights and lanterns going up

Exactly, wanted to go to Stone Circle and Shangri La this year but didn't have the time!

Only went for 4 days so with another day...I still won't find the time to do everything I want to do

The flagtopia place up by the tipi fields is the best I recon.

You wanna get yourself to Flagtopia, go right to the very very top.

The best view in the world.

Yep flagtopia definately affords the best view, though top of Big Ground is pretty good for looking North to South.

There's a pretty good view from the ribbon tower in the park area.

I'd have to agree on Ribbon Tower. Don't they have the binocular things up there?

I might be biased though because I fell in love with The Park last year.

Top of the Ribbon Tower, makes you realise just how huge the site actually is.

used to be atop the big wheel, or the helter-skelter i think, but nowadays all the above places are fab.

The best view I got was from The Park Area up the hill past the metal tower with stripes of colour on

Don't rush straight to the view. Enjoy it in stages with all the foreplay.

There are a series of best views.

The first moment of excitement comes as Glastonbury Tor appears as you are driving towards the site. A bit like going on holiday as a kid and you spot a glimpse of the sea for the first time.

The second comes as you go through the gates and are inside the fence and, from whatever entrance there's this feeling that "we're home." A newbie will be just gobsmacked at that point.

Next great moment is after the tent is up and you have your first relaxer and take in the sounds and smells.

Then it's off around 'town' to orientate your guests and let them appreciate the range of what's on offer.

Each one of those is a mind blower.

Then it's up the hill (as per previous posts) for the view and mind blower number five.

Best views are from the Monorail.

Get on by the pyramid stage and make your way round, great for spotting things as well.

Get off at the stone circle and then make your way round to the park and then go up the viewing tower.

I would then hitch a ride back to the pyramid and walk up the hill.

You get pretty good views if you get off at Mornington Crescent.

Flagtopia in my opinion. The view is better than from the stone circle and it's never crowded up there
