Just saw the bit about Spandau Ballet as well, Sunday afternoon slot if it turns out to be true I'd imagine? Or maybe even the slot The Specials had this year (hope not but stranger things have happened)

I'm gonna for U2, Stones and Prince with Muse playing under The Stones but at the same time I just don't think Muse would settle for not headlining.

They obviously know they don't have the legacy, back catalogue etc etc of the other 3 acts but at the same time they're selling out stadiums in hours.

I doubt there will be any headliner at the moment who would make me go to the Pyramid, but I recon this years will be an amazing line-up.

and mr e did say he wanted the headliners of the 40th anniversary to show off the festivals progression and muse does that perfectly especially seeing as they havent headlined it before.

IMO Muse would do a sunset slot below a huge act like U2 or The Stones. Leaving Coldplay to send us all home feeling good (either cos you love them or cos you avoided them )

Did we ever find out who the 4th headliner was going to be actually? I remember Neil saying he knew who it was but couldn't say anything. I always thought it was Radiohead but then they wanted to wait till 2010 to play....thats just me speculating though.

Yes, but 2004 wasn't the 40th anniversary was it? And ME hadn't made a statement about huge bands playing on smaller stages and suchforth. Granted Muse are big enough to headline any festival, however with bands the magnitude of U2, Rolling Stones, Prince, Bob Dylan etc being rumoured, if any of them are forced to choose between playing the Other Stage or not at all, Muse are the most likely to do that, and I think they'd prefer to play or not. Personally I'd feel headlining the Other Stage would definitely be better for them than the sunset slot if they had to play second fiddle to someone, as they definitely benefit from being in pitch black I personally felt when it was light at Wembley something was missing. Don't get me wrong they'll probably headline the Pyramid, but all I was saying was if they weren't to, the Other Stage would be the best bet

tbh i thought kesabian made up for it anyways, absolutly brilliant.

and someone also said muse headlinging the second stage- pfft. dont be stupid. muse are one of the biggest bands in britian, for example they have sold out wembly stadium for 4 dates ( 2 in 2007 and 2 in 2010) there also world famous for their live performance.

don't get me wrong i think they would headline the second stage if asked, but it just seems silly for a band to go down the bill when they're bigger now than when they played before.

you've also got the fact that their glastonbury set back in 04 was ment to be amazing so again it seems silly for them not to headline again.
