efestivals used to pride itself on being 'in the know'. When I heard that U2 had been revealed by......The Sun.....as headlining our premier festival I thought I'd have a read through the Glastonbury board to make sure that efestivals had known all along. But no!

What is going on? Has efestivals had its day?

It is just not possible to compare The Scum to anything as there is nothing on the planet of comparable worthlessness. Hang on, yes there is... my footprint in a week old dog turd - thats just about as comparable. But even that is of far more use and far greater benefit to society than The Scum.

atauly guys. insults about the sun aside.

why was the news given out via the sun??

i mean it is englands most viewed papper, but i can't see why evis or u2 would go to them first??

surly the guardian would have been 1st as it sponders the festival??

(if this topic is already up, post me a link)

Wha??????

We are not insultiing The Scum... The Scum insulted the 96 families and everyone else that has a droplet of compassion in their body.

Sorry to efestivals regular viewers, I dont want this to turn into another 'Scum' thread but lets not forget the facts people - just had to clarify that. :P

No. :P

Efests is more than just a rumour mill for potential acts as indicated by the forums.

Just because one band announce via their huge massive PR machine that they are going to play means nothing.

The site is so much more than being the firsts with the scoops on who is and who is not playing a festival 7 months from now.

To be fair, whilst it great to know who is playing does it really matter?

I mean its not life or death stuff is it?

No tickets are on general sale so no decisions to be made on whether to go or not. So I really could not care less.

Also the sun is a mainstream media outlet and Efests is not. I am sure the Jurno's and the PR peeps were probably in some bar in London having a beano and got discussing about the summer and it slipped out.

No big deal.......

move along now, nothing to see here...... move along.

    • She was/is 100% in the mix, but I don't know specific timings and how it relates to that interview. They've clearly gone after her, again.   It could be read in a number of ways - she was in negotiations at that point, she was talking about BST (and he's interpreted it, as we have, as Glastonbury). Who knows
    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band that have meant so much to me over the last 40 years. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
    • I dunno - I thought that initially but I'm, reluctantly, edging towards not happening as it stands. Will continue to dig where I can, though.   Re 2028 - I wouldn't be confident. If this is the second time they've tried and it's gone belly up, it could be a case of just write it off.
