Large Acts & their fans

Oh I hate obsessive fans that take over stage areas. At leeds in 2005 I couldn't get right up the front for any the acts I wanted to see on the Friday due to a bubble of Iron Maiden fans who just camped out in front of the main stage all day. Was such a pain.

I'm sure one or two will get some tickets and get right in and just wait all day but thankfully it was announced after the main ticket sales so mostly went to people who want to go to Glastonbury not just see U2. Seems such a waste just to see one band. As for the 5000 tickets :P:D:D:D what about the other headliners do their fans get them too? What about the other stage headliners? lol

Just been on the site, some of the fans are going a bit mental lol. Do they not realise all bands playing Glastonbury do the same?

There's some right odd balls and down right selfish pricks on that forum, thank God most of them don't have tickets if that's their attitude.

I'm not sure where this poster is getting his info

"2. don't anyone hold thier breath regarding this as this was a big discussion between some of us in Dublin and i said u2 will not play Glasto and i stand by that i really don't think that they will (yeah i know that its been confirmed and all that pish)." :P

Jeez - that was an enlightening read. Not into U2 myself but i'll make a point of wandering along for half an hour now inbetween Ciders just to see what all the fuss is about.

The same's happening on the Andy Williams forum :P some right mentalists on there that can't get tickets...

*turns sarcasm mode off*

F*ck 'em! It's called 'Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts' not 'U2, Bono and Others'!

There was a post I was reading on here the other day that went along the lines that the person didn't care who was playing at Glastonbury. They put something like....

U2 - just a band

Muse - just a band

Pink Floyd - just a band

etc etc

Nuff said! :P

Well. They're a bunch of scary-mardy-U2stalking-muddyfunsters aren't they!

I don't think I've ever seen such a display of dummy spitting in my life. Seriously. Get some professional help. It's only a f**king band at the end of the day.

The one nutter who stood out for me was the one who said they felt "badly let down" by the band and expected some sort of prior announcement of such things to the U2 fans who, like them, have seen the band "over 100 times". Seriously deluded.

A couple of things spring to mind.

1) There are a fair few obsessives (all be it mainly friendly obsessives) on these boards (look at the post counts...)

2) Remember the reaction when ME said he'd make a certain percentage of tickets available to only students/youngsters? That possibility is a scaled down version of what these U2 fans are going through

3) It will be a shame if U2 fans get tickets in the resale and then leave on the Friday but that's their right. Loads of people seem to leave early on Sunday and we don't really give them a hard time.
