Well, after reading through all that I reckon I've earned the right to contribute my ill-informed two penneth.

U2. Made some excellent music. Bono's views can be contentious. They'd be brilliant I reckon. They would play crowd pleasers and anyone who's been that big for that long must have something.

That is all.

Love the fact that Colleges in America have f**king stadiums, crazy.

Shame about U2 really, I'm not too bothered that they're not playing but if the set list was good at Glastonbury it could have been brilliant.

So U2 - well known for being difficult and outrageously expensive - are going to fly back during a break in their American tour - without most of their set - just to play a festival they appear to have next to no time for?!

Hmm..... I think not. Dream on.

They ain't going to play people.

'Wooderson' date='Oct 26 2009, 10:17 PM' post=3011667]U2 would have zero trouble with "just" playing the Pyramid. Michael has wanted them before, U2 want to play Glasto. Its a perfect fit.

This tour will be long finished the year after next - maybe they might do it then? Either way I wouldnt bet against them playing at all. Their problem with it in the past had more to do with their control of the broadcast on the Beeb to be honest.

Once Bruce and Neil did it last year, the Stones and U2 are conspicuous in their absence from the Glasto Allumnus Assoc. Don't write them off at all.

    • Id suggest we would need another new album before they play again - Otherwise the show is going to probably be very similar to the one they played at the last festival.
    • Absolutely not, I dont know of it selling out but they needed TFG and Skyvip to shift them. Biffy aren't either and they didn't go to TFG and I wouldn't say Kasabian are either and they sold it out the quickest. Liam Gallagher did Finsbury Park as well and subbed the Pyramid Stage, Noah Kahan did two nights at BST and subbed the Pyramid though that's a rare one. Finsbury itself will definitely not grant you top spot, that field can hold 100k      That's fair. I'm definitely in the camp myself that Fender and Harry are most likely.

    • I don't think he will announce restarting north sea drilling.    He'll hint at it instead and kick it down the road.   And the plan isn't for new licenses anyway.
    • LCD Soundsystem seem perfect for the outdoor circuit. I could definitely see them doing that.
