I'm certainly not going to fret about Jackone's latest forecast. I followed him last year religiously and if I remember right at this point all the signs were great right up until a few days before and then the forecast suddenly turned dire. Yet apart from a bit of rain Thursday night and some on Sunday, we were laughing. Still all to play for if you ask me!

Such logic. What else would such logic achieve? Hmm... let's see:

I hate Kasabian. Maybe I should buy all their albums and play them on repeat to stop fellow Kasabian-haters from coming near me?

I hate James Corden. Maybe I should invite him over for dinner, and whilst the fat, talentless c**tasaurus eats me out of house and home, tell him I'm his number one fan?

The above would turn me into a pscychopath. Meaning I'd be willing to kill for less than just a bit of good weather for 5 days every June.

Bad idea, Modey.

I'll be kind and politely reply (before Langdale gets here) but it goes like this:

We won't accept any mud. As such, we can't have any rain. Therefore as a failsafe, we don't want any clouds either. Your suggestion is a dangerous temptation of fate. You can always drink water/find shade. Please withdraw your statement.

Thank you.

This is true. I followed him last year too when he was way out as I recall. I think he's a wind-up merchant.

As ever I'll be watching the weather for the week ahead on countryfile sunday 20 June and then packing for Glasto accordingly.

Our weather is simply too chaotic to predict this far in advance. You can really only do this a week in advance with any accuracy. I know John Kettley and he 100% agrees with me!

The end.

Well yes but thats not really the point is it - we're british going on holiday in britain and we enjoy, in fact we relish, our discussions on the weather. And that is what the weather thread is all about, not actually knowing what the weather will be like in 20 days time. We all KNOW theres no point looking more than five days ahead of the event but that would take the pleasure out of our chat about it.

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
