Funnily enough I said earlier to my other half something like "I just hope we have the same weather as 2008" and she said that she remembers it raining a lot? My recollection is of it pissing down just as we went to see The Levellers, but apart from that it was hot and sunny like you say.

I'll let her know she's wrong, she always appreciates that

JACKONE's latest - a vague update with a biggie due tomorrow:

UK Outlook for Friday 18 Jun 2010 to Friday 2 Jul 2010:

The somewhat unsettled theme with sunshine and showers is likely to continue at first. However, there are indications that there may be a trend towards higher pressure giving drier, brighter and warmer conditions with some sunnier parts perhaps very warm. Southern and western parts may see more in the way of rainfall with the possibility of some thundery weather, whilst northern and eastern regions should remain drier.

This is the latest forecast from the Met Office from around the festival time. My next forecast blog will be out on Saturday, when I will looking at the new weekly summary, and the daily summaries from this week. There has been a wide variety on the summaries so far this week, so all to ply for in terms of the Glastonbury festival weather.

I've checked all my Glasto kit list, got my ticket, sifted through the clashfinder, counted out my Glasto Spendo change bucket and I'm ready to go. The only thing I now have to obsess about is the Weather and all this evasive posturing and fence sitting from every available source is starting to really piss me off!

I have avoided this thread so far... I am now checking in daily as I am scared all this good weather we have now will come to an end at some point, early July would be a good time for that though.

I am only packing shorts, T-shirts, factor 25 and a big cowboy hat (the last bit is not true) to prove I have full faith in the sun's ability to do the right thing.

Last year I went fully prepared, and will do the same this year. Umbrealla as a parasol or refuge, pac-a-mac as either a sunbathing pillow or waterproof, 'tis a time of multifunctional accessories.

Wellies don't work for me, but my good waterproof walking boots did a great job last year, they will get a waterproofing spray before I go plus some top insoles.

Here is my weather gumpf from: /index.php?s=&showtopic=145839&view=findpost&p=3286516">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...t&p=3286516

weather.co.uk does decent 10 day forecasts - but anything over a week is a real guess, there are just too many dependencies to say what is going to definitely happen.

Think how big the sky is, and how small glasto is, they can tell us (with some degree of honesty) what will happen in Somerset. But to get the weather right for an actual FARM is almost impossible for anything other than the next 6 to 12 hours... could have brilliant sun in Taunton and rain in glasto, or the other way around.

But still I love a good long range forecast NOTE: all links open in a new window :)

MetCheck current feelings(note image will update automatically daily - so keep checking back):

The metcheck and netweather are peoples personal estimations of the weather, from various long range forecasts they have access to.

16 day forecast for glasto will be here:

And rough guesses:

Guardian predicts good weather (in a very general way...)

The Gorge usually puts together some sort of weather guide in the weeks before the festival:

I'll be hitting all those sites on the refresh between now and the big day!

Praying for great weather - warm days, cool nights :)

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
