Weather thread 2010

Been down in Bristol with work the last couple of days, trips to the south west always get the glasto excitement going! But to see that part of the world in this weather is a joy.

I come back and find 6 more pages added, no one is any longer discussing bird entrails and some people have had the BARE FACED CHEEK to start mentioning rain!

Anyway, when are we expecting the next netweather forecast? Also, when will he start giving us proper ratings for the festival, i.e last year's 'marks out of 5' system.

Unless I have this wrong, my memory of the last 10 years:

2000 - Bit of rain Thursday night, sunny the rest of the festival, good conditions

2002 - sunny the whole weekend - dry and crsuty

2003 - sunny the whole weekend, bar some drizzle sunday early evening - dry and crusty

2004 - rain thursday night, friday morning, and abit during Macca (sunday night?) - wellies needed all weekend

2005 - awful awful awful thursday night, but then OK - wellies all weekend.

2007 - peed it down all weekend non stop. horrid.

2008 - my apologies, holiday in France for me <regrets>

2009 - thunder and lightning thurs, and rain late sunday - lovely the rest of the time.

2010 - ?????!!

Definitely - rained steadily more heavily through Thursday evening, but then cleared up on friday morning and by Friday afternoon it was almost like the rain had never happenned.

It was moderately sunny but tbh, never really that warm, although everyone pretended it was because they were so relieved it wasn't 2007!

I still can't get the proper Glastonbury 5 day one either - but i have just entered it day by day and the rainfall is up in the 4 billion millimetres daily range.

They are taking the piss.

Go to just generic metcheck and enter Glastonbury.

On the left hand side there is an icon you can click for "date".

Then it allows you to enter dates and you can move through day by day. It has a range but we are in it now.

Right, I've crossed the line, it's that time of year when I first check the weather thread. Even if only to say I work in Air Traffic Control so I'm obsessed with the weather all year round and I can say with confidence that it is far too early to be able to predict with any kind of confidence what the weather will be like.

Especially as it's GOING TO BE NICE!!!!

Nope. Soon.

Helpful, I know.

Wedmnesdat? Nice bit of 'tryping' there my friend!

Don't like use of the word uncertain. I'd like someone from a meteorological background to say "the signals look bang on for a bloomin scorcher and no mistake." Although the stereotype cockney is optional.

I was expecting him to do an update Wedmnesdat, but he seems to be delaying it. I think signals are very uncertain just now from what netweather people are saying generally.

i'm having real worries about this year. this uncertainty is helping as there is nothing concrete either way.

Who is this jackones that people speak of in hushed tones?

Does he decide what the weather will be?

Can we make sacrifices to him?

Surely it's better than 'it's going to rain - there's a rain cloud coming from the Atlantic and it's bigger than Brian Blessed's first dump of the day'?
