Well, that absolutely confirms where im gonna be on the sunday night - one of THE best live bands Ive ever seen and cant think of a better way to finish the fest than everyone singing The Universal - it may even bring a tear to my eye :(:D

That is a superb setlist. Badhead, Jubilee, Trimm Trabb, all in the first few songs! As they've been rehearsing about 40 songs I'll be interested to see how the set list changes as they continue the gigs. And to finish on For Tomorrow & The Universal - if they do that at Glasto, WOW!

Blur do not seem to have any arsey agenda on these shows. Thus "Theres no other way" sounded superb, even "Country House" sounded great. Though Im still looking forward to the delta-blues version of it.

With Bruce playing a similar version of his current "Hard Times" themed shows at Glasto aswell, I think the Blur boys are going to come in and sweep up the plaudits. You just cannot argue against the setlist in this thread. It is phenomenal.

sensational setlist. I have to persuade my friends to ditch the tired sonding prodigy, though we are going to see blur in hyde park too so perhaps I shouldnt be so selfish. f**k it, it is easy to "accidentally" lose people at glasto, I will take in blur alone. The pyramid stage will be far more epic than hyde park. It is nice to spend the last set at glasto among friends though

That version of There's No Other Way sounds great, I was a bit worried that maybe like Pixies their songs would lose that bit of energy they had due to age but no, you'd think they were playing in 1994!

I'll be watching The Prodigy at Leeds. And even if I wasn't going to Leeds I'd still see Blur. Prodigy do seem one of the best live acts around but Blur are one of my favourite bands of all time and naturally I'd be more loyal to Damon and co.

Also, I personally can't think of a better song for Blur to finish with than The Universal. Not even This Is A Low.

That was, without question, the best gig I have ever seen! Perfection!

Glad I've got Glasto to look forward to, otherwise the comedown would be immense

The whole afternoon / evening was like being in some kind of dream sequence... I'll wake up soon tho.

    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
