Worst Clash?

Also - Blur V Prodigy is pretty much the only DEFINITE clash we know of so far. The timings on different stages during the day/early evening can vary and overlap in all kinds of ways so that you get there and find things you thought would clash don't after all.

The Specials/JamieT/Roots Manuva one looks pretty nailed on as well to be fair because it's close enough to the headliners not to move too much.

Blur V Prodigy is a nightmare. I was so excited when the Prodigy confirmed but this has just killed it. Sunday night has done this to me for the past 3 times I've gone - Chemical Brothers V Oasis, Verve V Groove Armada & now this. Each time I had chosen the guitar band I never thought I'd get to see, over the dance act I'd already seen (and loved), and I think I was wrong both times.

Exactly the same - seen and loved The Prodigy, never thought I'd get to see Blur. If I choose Blur will I be making the same mistake over and over, or will I finally get it right?

The Chems clashed with the Who when they were on a Sunday, though they did clash with Oasis on a previous year on a Friday night.

There’s a few clashing headliners but I kind of right that off as inevitable. Day time, I’m not too chuffed about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Tom Jones. Dizzee Rascal Badly Drawn Boy and Passion Pit’s not welcome either!

My worst clash is between The Streets and British Sea Power as it stands, so nothing major.

Bit of bummer that I'll have to miss Jarvis and Prodigy but as they're againt Bruce Springsteen and Blur it's an easy choice for me.

Animal Collective against Neil Young also sucks :). My thinking's that I'll probably get another chance to see Animal Collective sooner and cheaper.

There's always clashes, and you will always wonder whether you made the right choice, but thats the beauty of Glasto so just go with how you feel on the day.

All your well thought plans tend to just go out the window when you're at Jazzworld & the next act you want to see is at JP but oooh, there's fresh Brothers just 20 metres away and hey, that guy playing funky bongo music just behind you is making your hips shake :)

I have multiple clashes, at least one biggie each day, but there are also gaps that allow me to do a bit of bimbling and find new stuff so I'm not tied to the line-up. All good :(

You could never see Blur and have it be a mistake - they've got it all - the big, sing along slow ones (This Is A Low, To The End, The Universal, Tender, Beetlebum etc.), the big sing along faster ones (Parklife, Girls and Boys etc.), crazy, moshy ones (Song 2, Popscene), good, fun pop tunes (For Tomorrow etc.) and a lot that are bloody good and impossible to categorise (Bugman, Essex Dogs etc.)

So there should be something to keep everyone entertained, which is why I think that the Prodigy will seem a bit repetitive..

Having said this, it's about what you prefer, if you wanna dance like a crazy then go to Prodigy, don't go to Blur if it's not your kinda scene and then have a rotten time and regret your decision, as you said you have done previously.

But don't think just 'cos Oasis and the Verve were bad choices that Blur will be 'cos although they're similar when compared with dance music, the songs and the shows are a completely different scene..

Clashes all over the place for me!

Friday:

Steel Pulse/Easy Star All Stars

Dreadzone/Fleet Foxes

Saturday:

Bruce Springsteen/Bon Iver

Baaba Maal/M.Ward

Easy Star All Stars/Spinal Tap/Rokia Traore

Gaslight Anthem/CSN/Horace Andy

Tinariwen/Rolf Harris

Sunday:

Bon Iver/Tunng & Tinariwen

Still, no complaints - amazing lineup! :)

Fortunately a couple of clashes are sorted by the bands playing more than once, but I still have a couple of conundrums:

Neil Young/Doves

Nick Cave/Seth Lakeman

But the biggest dilemma for me is: Bruce/Franz/Jarvis/Wonder stuff - too many bands, so little time!

What's up with all the clashing? Is there a reason for it?

Surely beardy realises that people exist who want to see blur and prodigy? the dj yoda/deadmau5 thing is so annoying because people are bound to like one if they like the other.

Are clashes set up on purpose to make people choose and reduce numbers?

Blur/Prodigy was a pain initially but I'm not as bothered now, I reckon Blur would be a pretty good ending to the weekend. Song #2 live anyone?

I think the one that'll cause a rift between me and the missus is the potential Manuva/Madness clash...

The Sunday Headliners are my worst nightmare.

I swore that I'd be there for The Bunnymen no matter what but blimey. Blur, Prodigy , Calvin Harris even if i stick to my guns, no one's going to come with me (not that, that has ever mattered.)

I'm not really complaining and I will solve it in the time honoured way, of getting completely bladdered and see what happens.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
