Neil Young confirmed!!!!!

:D:(:D:D:)

Glastonbury organisers have today confirmed that Neil Young will be the third headline act at this year's festival, describing his inclusion in the lineup as a "dream come true".

Making official the rumours that the 63-year-old musician would be playing Worthy farm this summer, Glastonbury festival organiser Michael Eavis said: "Neil Young to play this year is a dream come true for me personally. He is one of my all-time favourites and we have always wanted him to play."

In a marked departure from last year's headline act, rapper Jay-Z, Young completes the trio of headliners alongside Bruce Springsteen and the recently reunited Blur. "With Neil on the bill we are close to completing our best ever lineup," Eavis added.

Organisers also announced that Seattle folk group Fleet Foxes will be performing at this year's festival, which takes place in Somerset between 24-28 June 2009. Franz Ferdinand took it upon themselves to confirm their own appearance at Glastonbury 2009 last month.

But it is Young's appearance that has caused the most excitement in Pilton, with Eavis saying: "We give it a go and every year people come to the festival and ask the same question: When is Neil Young playing? So this is big news for us. I've seen him play many times over the years but I think he's better than ever at the moment, it's one hell of a show."

Tickets for Glastonbury festival have now sold out, however, there will be a resale of a limited number of cancelled tickets on 5 April. The Guardian is the official media sponsor of Glastonbury festival. For more information, go to the Glastonbury website.

hurrahs all round are in order I think!

Only problem is this looks like I might be at the pyramid for all 3 headliners. There are going to be some horrific clashes this year methinks.
