Neil Young confirmed

I'd like to make it clear now that i like Neil Young. If he had been announced as anything but a headliner i'd be rejoicing with all of you. I just don't think he's up there with Radiohead, McCartney, The Stones, etc. That's all i'm saying.

It's nice that he's influenced people who have the talent to be headliners but why not get them on instead of him?

they have - they've already confirmed Fleet Foxes. But they're not big enough to headline.

Blur are more of a Brian Eno rip-off than a Neil Young rip-off tho. Do you think they should be replaced with the many blur rip-off acts? Me, I prefer the originals than poor imitations.

Yeah, but i don't think the time he has spent writing compared to the number of well-known songs is very good to be honest (ratio-wise). I know "well-known" isn't everything but it's a good indicator, at least. I think in order to be a headliner you need to have at least 3-4 hits that everyone knows as well as a strong back-catalogue.

Going to be the first time in my Glasto years that I will be seeing 3 Pyramid headliners, imense!

This is my first Glastonbury

I purchased my ticket before any rumours

I'm a massive, massive Bruce Springsteen fan

And a huge Neil Young fan

I'm won't be able to wipe this grin off my face for the next 12 months. Wanted to see Neil Young last year but £75 was a bit steep and with Bruce not doing any English stadium dates I can't belive how lucky I am.

That could be true yeah. However he has got a load of tunes people know and he is quite "Glasto" if you know what I mean?

Having said that, when I saw him last year, the 2nd last song he played was a 25 minute guitar jam that nobody knew!! And this came after a 15 minute song that nobody knew. But he did follow that up with a cover of A Day in the Life .

He has the capacity, like Dylan, to be a total arse but also can really "reach" people if you get him on the right day.

Yay! Was pretty confident he would play but thought the headline slot may have gone to someone else after the rumour wobbles over the last couple of weeks. I've put Zuma on to celebrate

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
