I know it's horse4s for courses and all that, but surely you could have picked some more interesting acts than those three to demonstrate your feelings about Neil Young?

Coldplay - I loved their first two LPs but since then they have become Yawnsville

Foo Fighters - I loved their first two LPs and patches of the third, but since then then churn out the same album over and over again - 1 big LOUD single so everyone goes "The Foos are back!" and then an album of ballads. Have played live in the UK 1,00,000,000 times in the last five years

Morrissey - I used to be a huge Smiths fan, but as I get older I just find them SO repetitive. Morrissey's solo albums are whack too - it's always the same song just with a different flippant musing over the top. He's also responsible for one of the worst sets I've ever seen - Benicassim 06, what a car crash

No, I tend not to go to them anymore, there's a limit to how many times I can watch the same band in the same venues play the same songs whilst releasing more albums that sound the same.

No, just bands who make it big after 2 LPs and decide to remake the same album again and again to propogate never ending V Festival headline slots

Neil Young has probably one of the most varied outputs of anyone I can think of

and he's toured quite a bit over the last few years

Matter of opinion. But Neil Young has never made it big at all in my eyes. Which is why i think he's not a good enough headliner.

What is not to accept? He is very highly respected and a huge influence to so many artists.
