My first Bestival - and 5co77ie's nailed it more succinctly than I ever could.

Despite not being able to hear or see any of the bands on the main stage(!), I'd certainly be back next year so long as that fiasco is sorted out...

Rob da Bank is talking about carving out the hillside next year so the stage sits lower - though I doubt it'll ever be a silk purse exactly wherever it is on that site. I preferred it where it was but it wasn't ideal there either and I understand why it had to move after last year.

The new fire field in the old mainstage field made up for a lot - great area - but I had to laugh when the bonfire on Sunday scorched a load of grass that clearly wasn't anticipated (the fire extinguishers getting engulfed!) ...oops!

Hello to Bestivalites.

Basically, Glastonbury is a no fly zone for Alcatraz in 2010( :ph34r: ) but I still want to do at least one Festival as an alternative and I'm reckoning Bestival is the one for me (the site looks brilliant and the presence of some Glasto attractions should make it feel like home)

So hopefully see a lot of you in here in the build up for 2010.

Also I realise I've kinda missed the boat with Early Bird tickets, any ideas when the next round go on sale?

Also...is there an arena? :lol::lol:

    • I saw this just after it was posted yesterday, I barely paid attention to it. I didn't realise it had blown up in the way it has. I'm sure (kind of) that Sziget will be unaffected - it brings in billions of huf over a very short period. Its consumption, compared to the rest of Budapest, will be tiny in reality. That said, nothing wrong with encouraging people to use less energy whether it's now or in the future.
    • The eulogies are flooding in.   The list I've seen so far is Jenrick,  Hartley-Brewer, Hopkins, Lowe, Pearson   Tells you all you need to know about him...
