TheGayTent
What a shambles. Looks like the 2nd test could be over already. The pitch is atrocious and the Windies bowlers are unhappy. Match referee on the pitch discussing it. Might be abandoned...

If you'd said the Cricket administration in the Windies I'd agree. The World Cup was a shambles, ticket organisation is atrocious, as proved again today with thousands locked out at the start of play... Totally different. Yes, their are plenty of issues with the ICC and the ECB, but they can at least ensure pitches are playable. f**k me, the local school has a better outfield than this

The Australian RFU especially... all them crappy experimental law variations are there cos the aussie rfu voted em thru so aussie broadcasters would pay to screen their games! that and the aussies cant do half the things that are now illegal/pointless (scrums, mauls, forward play in general...) TheGayTent
Not funny really. This could have huge ramifications for the island of Antigua. Stanford is one of the biggest employers on the island, if not the biggest...
eFestivals
Not funny really. This could have huge ramifications for the island of Antigua. Stanford is one of the biggest employers on the island, if not the biggest... yup, 5% of the population is employed by him. (It's worth noting that him and his bank were thrown out of [british controlled] Montserrat in 1990, cos he was thought to be dodgy back then). But it comes down to the same old thing - there's a good chance that any high profile 'businessman' who loves his face in the papers is a conman. Branson - convicted fraudster. Fayed - proven fraudster Archer - convicted fraudster. etc, etc, etc. I have money on Branson and Fayed both getting caught out and being made bankrupt before the end of they year. While what they've been doing might not be classed as legally fraudulent, they have both been using dodgy financial practices to remain solvent and (wrongly) regarded as "billionaires". TheGayTent
I didn't realise Branson or Fayed were billionaires (even in their eyes). Fayed for sure is small time. Just look at the way his house in Dubai was f**ked over!

Just look at the way his house in Dubai was f**ked over! They both describe themselves as billionaires, and don't correct journos who directly refer to them as that. However, while they might control billions in assets, they're hocked up to the eyeballs, and come settlement day, they'll be left owing probably hundreds of millions. Don't know about Fayed's Dubai house, but that might not be directly money related - Fayed f**ked off the ruling family there decades ago (in the early 1970s), when he essentially tried to get himself cut-in on all the country's transactions. eFestivals
Another Ponzi scheme? nope, but much the same as with so much of this financial crisis, bankers being stupid, and believing that markets only ever go up.
