oafc0000
99-8 - we're doomed!! 1-1 with 1 to play will be interesting tho...just in time for Flintoff to hobble back into the attack.. Will have to see what our bowlers can get out of the pitch. But yeah. EDIT: Got one Edited August 7, 2009 by oafc0000

Huevos y Bacon
Clearly a good batting pitch. If your name is Clarke or Ponting no doubt.

harper11
what an action packed day to have a near 100 run first innings lead on day one is unbelievable

timespeedsup
It would appear that we have some bloody awful batsmen right now. I'd love to see wholesale changes in that department for the final test, they could hardly do much worse. But I suspect the official solution will be to play an extra batsman and allow Bopara & Colly the whole series. Meh.
oafc0000
Was there yesterday and it was awful. So bad.... Bopara needs taking out of the firing line but the problem is who do you replace him with. We look pretty average without both Peterson and Flintoff. harper11
KP probably would have got out cheaply as well his scores this series are 32, 44, 8 and 69 and that was against australia playing badly but he sure is better than Bell Flintoff has one or possibly zero tests left for england so need to win without him freddie barely bowled in birmingham and england still bowled alot better than they have this match, in the first innings anyway. maybe too many fairweather champions in the side
TheGayTent
Thank you England for bringing the expectation levels down and making the final test interesting... ...I am going to the Friday and perhaps the Monday (if it lasts that long...) Before which I am off to Edgbaston for T20 Finals Day

harper11
better performance than leeds but still below par overall the pitch must be a batsmens paradise if bell can get

Cardboard Box City
when does this finish so i can turn onto sky sports news without fear again? Monday I think, then they're going to have full coverage of something that Scotland's good at. After a lot of blank faces round a boardroom table I think they settled on a haggis eating championships.
