Hop Farm 2012

Well we've decided to go for the weekend now after getting a ticket from supajam and selling the day ticket for the Saturday. Don't suppose anybody could answer these questions if they can; (first time at the festival)

We're not planning on getting there till around half 1. Will we be ok to get a reasonable camping spot? I'm guessing ticket sales aren't great this year so just wondering if we'll be that far away from the arena.

What's the beer prices there? And what's on offer? I saw something about real ales on the first few pages but didn't know whether that was a one off and they've just got a small choice inside the arena. Plus I've got Optimus Alive in Portugal shortly after so doing it on a bit of a budget.

Any recommendations on bands for the Friday? The only 2 I'm bothered about is The Stranglers and Ray Davies and they look to clash. Might check out BSP but that's about it.

Is it a short distance from the Main stage to the Big Tent? Planning on catching Bob Dylan but if he turns out to be bad, which I'm expecting, then I wouldn't mind a quick dash to check out Primal Scream.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Really looking forward to it!

I'm not sure about camping but the beer selection was good last year, plenty of real ale of all kinds, prices as expected about £3.50, plus an extra quid for the glass first time round.

Bands on the Friday, obviously depends what you like but Various Cruelties, Field Music, and Casher No.9. Plus I'm a Peter Gabriel fan.

And finally yes it's like 2 minutes between all the stages. You can see the Main stage if you stand outside the Bread and Roses tent.

Thats a shame, was hoping to see Gomez, looks like I will miss them..still, as long as I get a reasonable place to camp, thats the main thing I guess!

Previous years the children haven't been in tow, so i've not really noticed if there

was a childrens/family camping area? I was over in the back field last year, next to the campervan

area, and i'm sure there wasn't any families about. Or maybe i just didn't notice due to alcohol. !!!
