Either that or the Spanish manager has sussed how to get the better of Deschamps.

I think the commentators are underestimating how well Spain are playing here. The reason France are struggling is Spain are making it very hard for them.

It's always that balancing act tbf of how much of it is the winning team nailing their game plan and how much is the losing side getting it wrong.

Commentator just said expectation was France would blow Spain away. Who thought that? Spain are European champions, on a big unbeaten run and have conceded one goal all tournament.

Dixon had a wierd comment that before the tournament only Oysrzabal would have been considered a weak link. He has a very good scoring record for Spain and scored the winner in the Euros. I think that he just assumes because a player doesn’t play for a big team they are no good.

I thought France would win but I didn't think they'd overwhelm Spain. Though tbf, I did struggle to call it as a meeting when doing assorted pre-tournament brackets suggested this was a very likely semi final so a Spanish success wasn't necessarily unexpected.

Have a scan through the BBC sports pages if you dare. The hyperbole and nonsense is off the scale, and no we’re not “all in it together”, there’s plenty who don’t want England to win, for a multitude of reasons, including the presumption that the whole country are supporting them.

Spain are pretty much the only team i could see beating France, and i thought theyd do so by monopolising ball use and denying them any opportunity to be good - and the only real weaknesses in the France team are at full back, and so it came to pass. Still thought France would win though! 

Realistically, i think Spain will win the final vs whoever they play. There's a decent story either way, but if England do get there then the last four finals in Mens and Womens World Cups and Euros would all be England v Spain - which is quietly fascinating and a clear indicator that investment in youth development and across all forms of football does pay off!

The scary thing for Spain's opponents is that Yamal is pretty much the best player in the world, yet hasn't had an outstanding game despite Spain's relentless progress.

Well it's quite something Spain have been able to carry him to an extent and still get the wins. Though I thought he was good last night - not the star player but still pretty productive.

Tbf Kane GB feels like it'll need a big turnaround as well. 

 

Admittedly I don't make predictions as it's a great way to make yourself look stupid when you get to the end of the day and all's said and done, know what I mean?
