I love how these landfill festivals all book one/two of Sophie Ellis-Bexter / Gabrielle / Natasha Bedingfield / Heather Small / Mel C / Katy B / Kate Nash each year, when it's so obvious what they are trying to do. Heather Small literally rocked up with a backing track and did karaoke at Y Not a few years back, for all the lads that love Kasabian and M People. But, ✅

Problem is it seems a relatively small pool of acts for the medium sized Indie based Festivals. I have seen anyone on the line up of any interest numerous times.

And that's the challenge Superstruct have, to turn their festivals into something more exciting, especially if they want to attract younger audiences (which I am not), and leave this stuff to the likes of Neighbourhood. There were a few glimmers last year, so maybe they'll surprise us again, but holding fire on ticket buying this year until I've seen whether they revert to type.

Hmmm, it’s certainly…a Neighbourhood Weekender lineup.

There’s some good stuff there, but it’s just so unimaginative.

Still, they clearly know their customers. The one time we went to this festival, I thought it was well organised with a good crowd. Hopefully it sells well.

I live so close, like a 15 minute train ride away, so I'm always interested. To see Blossoms, DMA's and Royston Club on one day is more than worth the price for me. Add Fratellis, Shed Seven and Razorlight, plus all the new stuff, and it's a no brainer for me.

Also the poster DMA's shared confirmed it's a Hill's End 10th Anniversary show. They'd probably do well to play it in reverse order, or random order at least...

Razorlight very low down. Getting Ashcroft back again kinda shoes how small their pool of headliners and options is.

These mid range Festivals seem very loathe to break ranks and give a top slot to one of the younger bands so the same ones are recycled.

First time at NBHD since 2022. Really enjoyed it, some great acts on, Blossoms proved they're headline level. Hopefully there's a 2027 edition as it's always a good start to festival season.

Only qualm was the shite drink options, prices were as expected (£6.80) but a 3.4% can of Amstel being the only lager option unless you wanted to walk to the other side of the festival to a pop up bar was a bit naff. Festivals need to bin that Brothers cider off as well it's rancid🤣.
