I’ve never seen them but I’m not a fan whatsoever. Maximo park supporting though and I’m quite into them.

That's fair. I am a fan and I haven't seen the newer stuff yet. Their Hitchin gig clashes with creamfields too or I'd havs grabbed TFG

We did debate hitchin but we got tickets for tonight on TFG and im

to do it now.

Biffy were excellent last night, fantastic setlist and stage show, sounded great too. Haven't been to Finsbury for a gig for a long time, and it was most defiantly a bad experience on all fronts last time for the QOTSA show. However last night went a long way to banishing those memories! That felt big, very glad I picked up a cheap ticket and tbh actually felt it was worth full price!

The bar running out of cans is ridiculous though. Also how it repeatedly took 5 mins for someone to fetch two cans of lager and open them is beyond me. Apart from that, excellent night! Was a quick in and out too, impressive!

Parts of me thought if they were going to get the Glastonbury shot it should probably be after reviews of last night but I don't feel it would be the gamble taken. They were afterall in ticket competitions from sky etc to finally get it close to sell out point.

Honestly, I think this’ll be the norm with a lot of bands and big outdoor shows now. People will wait closer to the time for competitions, blue light, T4G etc.

Iron maiden are doing Knebworth…tickets are on blue light and T4G (which I never saw Biffy or Wolf Alice on to be fair, only the sky competition). Just feels a bit mad because regardless, it’s iron bloody maiden.

I think Biffy probably did sell a fair chunk but then the ticket giveaway was to get the rest gone.

I do feel like they should have just not done the O2 arena on the tour and had this as the London date

Either that or done the tour last year, which I was kinda surprised it wasn't - I thought it would've been arranged for November/December time.

But yeah, as said above, I think a lot of people are now in the market where they will go to the shows but will wait for tickets to pop up on sites selling tickets at a lower rate. Before various things got in the way, that was my plan for Biffy and I have no doubt I'd have been able to get in for, at the very least, below £70.

Yeah this is fair. The thing with maiden is too when they tour, they do it for multiple years running so it's not like people haven't had the chance to see them. Download goers have had so many chances over the years.

Fair on tfg but I think Wolf Alice did, I'm just not bothered by them enough to take notice. Kasabian not hitting TFG, Blue light or Sky though albeit their arena tour wasn't as close but they have had their other dates. As you say though, twickets and ticketswap is getting tougher now because of a lot of people playing the waiting game.

Yeah, Wolf Alice are on TFG for Newcastle too. Not sure they’re quite at that level.

by the way, the libertines were total trash yesterday. 😂

saved yourself a trip.

Yeah Wolf Alice aren't at that level.

Ah that's good to know haha, I mean I was never making it all the way there. Not even done my run this morning.

Iron Maiden have already done a big outdoor show on this tour. I was skeptical about this show instantly because of that. People won't be anywhere as quick to shell out for it.

Didn't feel like Finsbury were going for the ultra big acts for this anyways.

Where was the big outdoor show? London stadium right?

Also, that Eddfest is ridiculously priced for what is a pretty subpar lineup.

Aye, London Stadium.

I expected a bigger lineup for something that's almost being billed as if it was a festival.

I attended IMs London Stadium show last year, and although I had an amazing time repeating the experience at Knebworth was not that tempting. Factoring in the ticket price, crap supporting lineup and the location itself and i decided not to bother. By the time these cheap tickets have come up I now have alternative plans (cult japanese band SIgh, then the football). When i start to feel a little FOMO, i remind myself that the supporting lineup doesnt seem to have much thought put into it (the US & EU tour supports looked much better) and it will be pretty much the same setlist as last year with potentially worse sound quality.

Last years Slayer concert at FP was great BTW.

It feels and looks super weak for something with so much hype.

a friend and I fantasy booked it…just move airbourne and the almighty to the Friday, have the Hu, the darkness and let’s say…trivium and someone else of a similar size support maiden. Proper stack the day.

it feels very lazy with how weak it is overall.

Went to the Super Furry Animals/Beta Band/Badly Drawn Boy gig last night at Alexandra Palace.

First time being to an outside event there, done a few inside over the years. Was well organised, decent crowd and despite the £8 a pint, we had a good evening.

Agreed about the Ally Pally Park gigs, went to The Maccabees there last week and the venue was pretty excellent. Loads of bars, toilets, opened up the main hall for shade (while also having food, another bar and access to the toilets in there) and sight lines of the stage were pretty good and the sound too

Just didn't enjoy dragging myself up that hill in the 30c heat! Don't think I've ever been there when it hasn't been dark in the depths of winter before!

It was decent, only a couple of lull bits but no Saturday Superhouse that I was hoping for which I think probably signals the end of playing that if it doesn't come into 24 songs.

I've heard some rumblings of puzzle 20th anniversary shows next year so you may get one more chance. Unless it's a one of a shepherds Bush jobby, if that's the case good luck 😂

They don't need to be doing those again yet do they

When was the last time they did an actual show for Puzzle? Pretty sure it would have been the run of Barrowlands shows they did where they did the first six albums with two a night.

that would’ve been that but it wasn’t the full album I don’t think. It was voted by the fan base.
