I would be very surprised if we don't get at least seven 'headliners'.

Even if there are 7 headliners, which I doubt 2 out of the missing 3 would be as big as Sombr and Capaldi at best, most likely even smaller, so who cares if the put those acts at the top of the bill or as subs, fact of the matter is there is only one headliner missing.

Possibly. Possibly not. Time will tell.

Not really, just what we already know, he mostly talked about the political, financial difficulties and legal issues with the Budapest council. There was no opportunity to ask questions from the audience. I had chance for a short private conversation but i didnt want to be too pushy, he talked about what he think could be the bad decisions of the former management. He tries to target wilder audience and improve the festival experience.

Still dreaming of Deftones and/or Turnstile being booked. There's plenty of Sziget target audience listening to this kind of stuff!!!

Turnstile are my most wanted act for 2026.

Mind you, Wet Leg was my most wanted for 2023, 2024 and 2025 and look how that turned out.......!

Bittersweet has just announced Lorde on 13.08 and they have previously announced Gorillaz and Tom Odell. They do share 21P with Sziget.

13.08 - Bittersweer
14.08 - Syd for Solen
15.08 - Way Out West

So it's 11.08 or nothing for Sziget, personally think she's out.

She'd make a pretty decent co-headliner with Sombr. Suspect there would be a decent amount of crossover in their fans too. Sombr into Lorde would work quite well.

However, she headlined in 2023 (and so did Florence). I suspect they might not want two headliners from the same year returning quite so quickly.

Guys, I wouldnt worry about the lineup honestly, sziget announcements works totally differently, fe in 2025 there was 3 waves of announcements, half of the major headliners came with the second wave, also some nice subs (like FKA twigs) with the 3rd wave, AND they are 3 months behind “normal” schedule. Im pretty sure we will have some pleasant surprise. I really dont get the huge disappointment year by year after the first announcement, but eventually all turns out pretty well. Based on the budget and the estimation of booking fees we can expect many more nice acts.

and they should change that because it's not working. If it was working the festival would be still profitable.

Well it is what it is, maybe they will change it, but i doubt, they will,  maybe they are doing it to boost the ticket selling with additional names but a bit higher prices

We love Sziget the way it is, even the oddities of there online presence. 😄

Even with the strong lineups of Primavera and Werchter, Sziget is what im excited about.

Regarding currently known names on the lineup... Sombr apart, if I am citizen of Budapest and got free tickets I still wouldn't go...

And that's fine. I've paid and I'm happy to be going. Different strokes for different folks. This is just the beginning, plenty more acts to be announced but there's a dozen so far that I'm happy with.

You only want to split the crowd, or?

For me, its the best start scince a long time. Good diversity...

Been checking out zimmer90, not heard of them before. They have a really good electronic pop sound, really good on the ear.

Agreed. They remind me of early-era Parcels.

Got them on my playlist/watchlist, along with Florence, sombr, 21P, Biffy, Tash Sultana, Underworld, Tomora, Antony Szmierek, Brooke Combe, Cassia, Charlotte Cardin, Lambrini Girls, Paris Paloma and Oskar Med K.

14 names from first announcement. I'll take that.

Underworld and TOMORA looking like Revolut Stage headliners - wonder if Tash Sultana could do Main Stage

I tend to agree. Who, of the current announced line-up, do we think will be subs?

Working on the theory that Sombr is co-headlining he would be one, I guess Biffy would be two.

I can't think that anyone else on the bill is big enough?

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
