Turnstile?

Bit more curveball but do we think Bright Eyes or Death Cab for Cutie could do Trees?

Where'd the Rise Against as MCR support news come from?

Sort of thought the whole Turnstile thing was this year, and that they wouldn't be play Trees for at least a while (and probably when the hype has died down) now, but I suppose it's not impossible.

BE and DCFC could work as a co-headliner if they wanted to attract fans from that genre for a day I guess.

Rise Against are confirmed for a festivals in Germany 26-27 June and also 16-19 July. That suggests they have two weekends to fill in the middle of that in Europe. There is a school of thought that this may be either side of them supporting MCR over in stadium shows in early July.

Not sure the Turnstile hype is ever dying down 😂. I think for Trees it might be now or never as a last chance to get them, and I think James' comments on the podcast have sorta felt the same that they're borderline still in reach but won't be for much longer.

Might be out of touch as a big fan, but I'd feel DCFC would be an outright headliner at Trees. Had an excellent time seeing them and the Postal Service at All Points East and would love to see them at Trees. Would probably need some good counter programming for something heavier to clash with them though.

Well reasoned with the Rise Against dates. Think the rumoured MCR London (Tottenham?) dates are for over Trees weekend, not sure if that makes it trickier for them to do both if they are indeed the support. Saw Rise Against with Frank Iero in LS Dunes earlier this year and would be well up for trying to see them again, whether that's at Trees, with MCR, or if possible doing both!

Turnstile are arguably too big for Trees based on how quickly those recently announced London and Manchester dates sold out. It’s a guaranteed ticket sell, especially if it’s a bit of a UK exclusive next summer, but they’ll be expensive enough now. They did a festival run this summer but I suppose there’s enough festivals in Europe to find a different set next summer.

Yes you’re probably right @BlackFoxx as Manchester Orchestra subbed last year and they’re bigger than them.

I hope for Trees sake, if it is Rise Against that MCR have over with them supporting, that they can piggy back off that tour and get them for a night. If they are purely doing their own thing thought then they looked nailed on for Trees as they’d headline outright, be perfectly suited to the festival and be open to shows in that fortnight interim period.

it would be a bit of a blow for me if MCR did play Trees weekend. I was so absorbed with hoping if they did play London it would not clash with the Metallica shows that I did not consider that it could be Trees weekend. To be honest it's an easy call as MCR would trump any Trees booking for me.

Rumoured London dates are 11/12th at Tottenham's stadium. So the Saturday and Sunday of Trees weekend. Not sure where you're based, but Sunday after Trees could be doable - albeit very tiring!

Could end up playing more than London too, not sure how extensive the rumoured EU/UK tour is meant to be.

I've got Trees tickets in the presale and really appreciate that they've got the free refund till Christmas clause. Hopefully by then I'll know a bit more of the lineup and whether I've hopefully got MCR tickets to make a decision.

Also, went for the presale tickets and would be a great way to polish off the weekend with MCR on the Sunday. The refund option is great and could turn out very useful if MCR does clash.

Enter Shikari (likely 2027)

Creeper

Rise Against

It's 20 years since Take to the Skies was released in 2027... interestingly too The Sufferer & The Witness was released in July 2006 so it would be exactly 20 years at Trees next year...

Also 20 years since AFI's Decemberunderground next year! Here's hoping!

Yeah, that MCR clash is tuff. Why could they not have done the Sunday and it would be possable to try to make it work.

My thinking is if Trees does pull off some one like AFI, chances are they will also do a London gig aswell. I wonder how many people will now be taking Trees up in their money back option.

This is gonna be a huge blow for trees surely? The 10-20 people I know for whom trees is an option each year will all go to MCR instead.

It'll be less than ideal as they'll always want it relatively clash free but Trees will be fine. The demand for the MCR shows will far outstrip the capacity, imagine a lot of people will be disappointed.

Could see a support bill of something like AFI, Creeper and Unpeople with them all then playing Trees on the Thursday.

Well hopefully no one yet, would be silly to do it before securing MCR tickets 🤪

Think the AFI Thursday shout is a good one. James has wanted to rebook them for ages but they seem pretty quiet as a touring band. Recent promo pictures suggest they're active again, and maybe being MCR support for UK (and maybe Europe and beyond?) could be the catalyst.

Tbh if it allows James to book AFI and maybe benefit from other support acts double dipping with Trees then maybe there could be a small kickback benefit for them.

Hopefully the early presales help fill the coffers to get after an ambitious lineup. Something like AFI / Rise Against / Amyl would do fine I think, even against MCR shows.

Yeah, don't want to cashin Trees and then find I can't get MCR tickets.

I think my plan will be to try for Saturday MRC tickets and see what Trees come up with. Hope they blow the budget on Thursday and Friday and get something Meh for Saturday. Still a chance I might do Trees in some form but will be tryng to do an MCR show.

This sucks, it woud be so much easy if Trees do me a favour and book a load of tosh that I have zero interest in.

Fingers crossed for another Wembley date and not the Thursday.

I'm so torn cos I was disappointed by the MCR Milton Keynes shows but I really like the production on this tour from what I've seen yet I love trees

Im just gunna leave my trees ticket as it is and not bother with rushing to get MCR.  There will be European dates most likely and will be plenty on twickets closer to the time

MCR EU shows/festivals in a few weeks. Not under TBP branding though, allegedly.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
