I'd say mid/late last season. I think Arteta spotted a few that hadn't been given and got his attackers to push the limits of it, and about 2 months into this season every other team was copying them.

I think we both know what I'm watching on Tuesday, although I think Atletico Spurs would be my 2nd choice across the whole week. I'm gonna be going for PSGvChelsea on Weds though, mainly because Real v City has been a regular fixture in recent years.

Certainly thinking of watching the car crash of spurs. Although there will be lots of goals in the Newcastle v Barcelona game.

I will more than likely watch PSG v Chelsea, that 1 could go either way.

I'm watching the Newcastle game but the score ticker is showing a flood of Atletico goals against Spurs... Yikes. We're assuming a P45 for Igor Tudor might be being filled out already?

Just feels typical doesn't it?

I gather Spurs played a keeper who hadn't been used in other a year and duly hooked him after the third goal. Suspect Liverpool are going to want Tudor to be kept for their meeting at the weekend.

Speaking of feeling typical, that is such a diabolical ending for the Toon that feels representative of our season so far. Seconds from beating Barcelona and then that happens. Yikes.

Just watched the goals - he made 2 awful howlers, but a hard watch to see the lad suffer and then be hooked so early on. The manager didn't acknowledge him but 2 of the staff consoled him as we went straight down the tunnel.  Can be a very lonely position!

They’ll probably get a good hiding at Liverpool and go out of the Champions League next week, but the Forest game will be the decider I think. Lose that and he’s out the door. International break immediately follows.

Can they afford to wait another 2 league games?

Saves the world from those cringey dressing room pictures, that Newcastle do after every a decent win. 🫣

Tbf we don't do those photos after first legs. And tbf, last week was nothing special, we do those after every win. Frankly, we haven't had enough of them this season.

The second leg for them next week is a non event. Sure, they could do something unexpected and beat Atletico - Barcelona nearly did something similar where they just fell short of the comeback after a 4-0 first leg loss. But really, Forest is an essential. Lose that and they'll be in extreme trouble.

I mean, it's really not working, isn't it? I know it's a bit much to suggest a manager could go after just 4 games but Spurs look like they're just collapsing right now and Tudor is really not making a positive case for himself. Such is the corner they've painted themselves into that I don't really see if they have any other choice for Liverpool on Sunday though.

They’ll stay up, they’ve still got some favourable games but obviously some very tough ones too. They’ll get a free three points when we (Leeds) visit in May

I'm quite up for Sean Dyche at Spurs. Never thought i'd say that. But a bit of a change, some positivity, a fella who is well versed in drilling and organising defensively, 4-4-2, a rocket up the arse of a few absolute minges, and a pathological hatred of Forest might just see us right - it would be quite the spectacle.

I just cant believe the luck - three slips leading to goals, a ridiculous dive leading to a goal, and then two concussions in the 93rd minute. These are all once or twice a season kind of random events and six happened in the same game ffs. I'm sure 99% of watchers are absolutely lapping it up, but holy f**k do we need to wee on some corner flags or something

As long as he realises - selecting Kolo Muani is beyond pointless -   im not sure he even tries - Richarlison has his critics but works very hard - even when others around him dont,  and Solanke is a great finisher -   Given we have these two fit there is no reason KM gets onto the pitch at the moment

Id take Harry or even.... Ange to put a rocket up them -   need someone who can motivate thats for sure.

With quite a few of our players on the fringe for World Cup squads - i.e Gallagher -  you think they would be a bit more motivated to perform but seems not.

Was talking about both games as I said "typical".

Questions have to be asked beyond the manager at Spurs though. However bad Tudor is, that club has been on a downward spiral for years, and these players seem to sulk about so many managers. People talk about managers "losing the dressing room", but even if that happens, why are so many consecutive managers doing it?

Yeah this is fair, but has any other manager since Poch had it?

If Spurs can hang on to Tudor for another week, that would be smashing. Thanks in advance.

I mean we dont beat Liverpool when we have been playing great so I wouldn't worry too much.

we already had an injury crisis before losing two more to concussion in the 93rd min last night, so if i were liverpool i'd start preparing for a comfortable win that'll be done twenty minutes in. I'd shake hands on a 4-0 defeat right now if you offered me, cos i think itll be more. Perhaps significantly. six or seven wouldnt surprise me at all

I know that a lot in Europe were worried about the Premier League resembling a European Super League but the fact none of the PL sides who've played in Europe so far have won and the two currently playing are losing is just kinda hilarious.

I'd still back at least 2 to go through (Arsenal should, Liverpool probably will), but still... pretty funny.

I'm not one of those people who writes on the Internet "If X happens, I'll do Crazy sh*t" and I know Liverpool had a faceplant in Istanbul last night (again) but come on - are Liverpool really so bad that they can't beat this mess?

Does anyone actually think their team is good this season?

Arsenal fans?

Maybe also Bournemouth and Sunderland ones? Even if the former had a big winless run in autumn and the latter haven't been quite as good recently.

There's something to be said about such a stuffed calendar and everyone pushing intense physical demands behind everyone looking knackered, mind. Which means both the biggest ever World Cup in a place that will almost certainly have weather-related disruption to make games longer and then another season next year means that by this time next year, so many players are going to look like they want bed rather than games.

    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
