Linkin Park?

Just listening to the album, I like it overall.

Emptiness Machine is defo the standout track.

The only track I would find myself actively skipping would be Casualty I think. Not overly fussed by Overflow or IGYEIH.

Outwith Emptiness Machine I think my next faves would be Over Each Other and Heavy is the Crown.

I think 3.5/5 is a fair score.

The Emptyness Machine I actually would like to hear and it's by far the best song on the album.

After a quick glance of their recent setlists it's pretty nice, heavy on the first three albums. There will probably be a couple more tracks from the new album now, but in general I think they know what the fans want and are happy to oblige. A shorter, trimmed set (as in shorter than 28ish songs they tend to do on their own shows) would go down a storm I think.

I am seriously contemplating seeing them on the tour tbf. If I don't get Glasto tickets I might do Werchter tho.

Yeah I’m getting london tickets if I fail for Glasto next year. JPEGMAFIA is my most streamed artist ever so him being there just sweetens the deal.

It'll be Werchter for me to get Olivia and Green Day too. It might even be if I do get Glastonbury

I would love to see them there. I think they're in that horrible grey zone of being too big for the Other but risk not 'being the right fit' for the Pyramid. They'd make a killer booking as an Other headliner against someone like Olivia Rodrigo on Pyramid (caveat that I think they're worth a lot more than that spot!)

What is “the right fit” for the Pyramid, considering that over the decades we’ve had every conceivable type of act headline?

I should have expanded on what I meant - I think they'd be great in a Pyramid slot, personally! But I just mean that in recent years, and perhaps last year was a crude example of this, people wanted (or seemed to want) the huge pop acts who had been booked to on Pyramid (see: Avril on Other). I always think to be solid for the Pyramid you need at least 5 songs that people in crowd know fairly well - i.e. be commercially successful act and a leader in the genre. Again, no reason why I don't think that they would be a bad fit, just offering a POV different to the one that even I hold.

Sooo I got those golden tickets this morning, which means I do have a pre sale code spare... If there's any genuine fans, that didn't get glasto tickets, and wants the code, message me.

Had it been 10 years ago I'd have snapped it but it think we're going to so Werchter in the end now and tick off LP, Olivia and GD again

To echo comments in the other chat, not this year - but Linkin Park definitely a Pyramid headliner or bust if they shift those dates they've got plotted for next summer in my book.

Setlist could still do with a few tweaks, mind you.

It would have made me laugh if Glastonbury was on in 26 to grab them from Download.

Download surely will be throwing everything at them next year. Coping can suggest they're another "new" headliner given the changes, if he wants to.

Would be shocked if 2026 didn't have Iron Maiden back though, but really depends on the route they choose for the second leg of the Run for Your Lives Tour.

Saw a thing on Reddit of the Wembley ticket prices was all over £100 for standing and £150 for front standing.

Annoying this now seems to be a going rate for stadium shows ngl.

Yeah, it can get in the bin. £100 for a concert ticket before fees? I'd expect the singer to serve me my double-cupped pint mid-song for that price.

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
