Are Kneecap closing Backyard on Saturday or are they moved to a bigger Stage?

With The Atomic Orchestra I count 176 names, more or less like the last two years. I don't expect much more names, maybe just one last surprise together with the timetable, but this will definitely happen very soon.

And probably clashing with The Murder Capital performing in the Club Tent.

It makes sense to me even if I'd have liked to attend to both shows, they mostly won't have the same crowd and this would grant the rock fans the possibility to attend to Viagra Boys, QOTSA, Papa Roach and The Murder Capital in sequence.

The strange choice would be Papa Roach clashing with the Backyard main show (Paleface Swiss?) but maybe Papa Roach are more into the mainstream rock crowd than the Backyard one.

Let's wait, I'm expecting timings to be announced tomorrow 🤞🏻

Shout out to all the PKP veterans!

Now that the timetable is out, could you please share your schedules.

I rely on your music tastes each year to discover fantastic new artists.

Thank you in advance!

Friday

Balu Brigada

Bartees Strange

Flo

Karate

Blackwave

CMAT

High Vis

Vampire Weekend

Chappell Roan

Jamie XX

The the booth or boiler probably

Saturday.

Really poor until 5.15pm for me so might be at the pub in Hasselt and have a late start. What could have been an 8/10 day has been made into a 5 with the clashes and poor night time selection (for my taste)

Yukimi

Dom West

Yard Act

Idles

Half of Khruangbin/half of ANOTR (Sorry Chats but I've already seen you)

Mackelmore (nothing else to really watch, unlike Chappell clashing with Mogwai)

After 12.30am, god knows, none of the acts on float my boat at all.

Sunday

The Joy (if I'm there early enough)

Suki Waterhouse

Royel Otis

Sasha Keable

Viagra Boys (sorry Jade)

Good Neighbours

Aurora

Mall Grab

Doechii

Justice

QOTSA (Altin Gun if not feeling QOTSA)

Booth/The Whatevers to finish.

Still looking forward to going of course, but the Kiwanuka cancellation and Saturdays clashes have taken the shine of it a little.

Take out Sofia Isella and replace with Get Up Kids (or possibly food), and we have identical Saturday schedules!

We're only there one day again (bloody kids, buying up all the combi tickets when I had no WiFi connection...)

This time I didn't really know my plans for the Summer, so I ended up booking Saturday and Sunday+ Fontaines DC and Sprints in Bonn the Tuesday after PKP.

Looking forward to next week! 🍻

I love how most of you can plan attending 10 or 12 bands per day. I feel so jelaous. My 45 years old body can afford only 5 o 6 whole concerts per day…

Planning to watch bands and actually seeing bands are two different things!

When do you arrive in Belgium? Need to make sure we actually meet this time!

At PKP is really easy to move between the stages, shows go from late morning to late night and most of them last 50-60 minutes. I'm mostly interested in smaller acts where you don't need to rush for a good spot (except a few cases like Soulwax last year or Tame Impala in 2015).

So it's the only festival where I can easily attend 8-9 shows per day, but no more than that.

I'm 43.

Got another busy few days coming up, although Fri and Sat day times are both a bit sparse in places. I don't actually mind that too much as gives me time to catch up with friends, go to the Café and Beer Shack and eat/chill out in the Food Wood.

Fri:

Balu Brigada

Bartees Strange

Chloe Slater

The Kooks

Nieve Ella/CMAT

DJ Gigola/Narciss

Horsegiirl/The Dare

Chappell Roan

Clown Core

Chase and Status

DJ St Paul

Sat:

The Atomic Orchestra

Being Dead

Man/Woman/Chainsaw

The Last Dinner Party

Kneecap

Swim

Obongjayar

Effy

ANOTR

Sub Focus

Interplanatary Criminal (maybe some Paul Kalkbrenner as well)

Eppo Janssen and Friends

Sun:

Lezard

Suki Waterhouse

Royel Otis

Sasha Keable

Jade

Girls Don't Sync

Mall Grab/Diffrent

Doechii

Justice

Sammy Virji/Altin Gun/Benwal

Any plans for a meet up again? I know there might possibly be a Festileaks one happening (so would make sense to tie them in as lots of us go on both forums) but how does 3pm on Friday in the Café sound? Feel free to throw out other days/times that look a better fit.

Edit: or 4pm on Fri as I'm not dead set on Bartees Strange and don't think too many on either forum will have Pommelien on their 'must see' list!!

Just this second suggested 3.30pm on the Saturday as there is only 2 bands on, one of which will be on the Main, near the PKP Cafe

Wasn't sure if you'd be on site at that time on Saturday but yeah, that works for me as well so let's see what others say? We'll probably just be in the Café anyway drinking beer so makes no difference!!

Dave, I will sleep in Brussels on Thursday and will arrive Hasselt on Friday. I think I will enter to the festival over 4 or 5pm. Karate is one of my highlights of the weekend and I think it will be the 1st whole concert I will attend.

This year we will have out deserved beer together (I would love if more Efest people can join us)
