I'm also a bit worried about the size of the crowd for Idles. They're not for everyone and it's a big step up, although I'm sure they'll smash it.

Idles have a fan base, but it's not an act with mass appeal, such as Chappel, Vampire Weekend etc.

They aren't for me, but I don't think the high placement is unjustified.

So Justice will close PKP25 with QOTSA early evening co-head and Papa Roach in the late afternoon.

It makes sense. Let's see what else comes, hopefully tomorrow already.

No, QOTSA are closing the Main.

I think Justice will play the Marquee again, with someone up against them in the Dance Hall to spread the crowd. They won't want to play in half daylight, surely.

That makes sense too. Personally not impressed by this first wave of names but it's quite solid and Pukkelpop-style. Let's wait for the next names.

Happy with Justice, Idles, QOTSA and Chappell. Not bothered about C&S and really won't go and see the others at all

Why there is some much hate for Papa Roach.

Saw them yesterday at Zénith in Paris they were great. Jacoby Shaddix has a great voice (some songs are really hard to sing) and a very good energy like the rest of the band.

Song are good too and diversified.

The audience was great too.

Don't understand why they are considered so bad.

Speaking personally, I'm ok with Pukkelpop's main choices (not the best possible but ok) including the fact that they're catching a slice of Graspop's crowd between the Backyard and some Main Stage acts. And I'm sure Papa Roach is a good live band with some hits and a story, even if not exactly my cup of tea (I used to be into them in the early 2000s tbh).

Also speaking personally, my complain is that, since we went from around 250 acts to 170, they choose to cut out a lot of indie, experimental pop, nu jazz, psych and so... Which is my cup of tea. And so I'm getting less and less excited by PKP every year and often choosing to go elsewhere.

But I know that I'm not representative of PKP's main crowd.

I think it's in part due to their position on the main. If they were on late afternoon, which is where they should be there would be less criticism people would mind a lot less. It's not their fault they've been given a high position but also they've done nothing to warrant the higher position compared to when they last played. Same goes for Offspring, Cypress Hill and Limp Bizkit. Probably just a reflection of how much bands are costing these days that these bands are getting the positions they are.

Personally, I just think they're an awful band but it's not really my kind of music.

Exactly. The feeling that many acts have become too big for PKP and formerly afternoon material have now become co-headliner without doing anything to deserve it.

Less acts, getting more and more expensive and spectacular, giving up many interesting bookings, compared to a few years ago.

Who do you want?

For Werchter I’m really hoping for Biffy Clyro and Bloc Party really plus the likes of Gurriers and Lambrini Girls as smaller slope acts.  Would also love Vampire weekend but judging by current dates they’ll be at PP if anywhere.

Ah OK. There won't be many crossovers. Feel that Wet Leg may play both, plus a few Belgian acts. Gurriers played PKP last year so they are your best bet to be added for RW

Shall go have a look at lasts years lineups to get a gauge of what’s possible.

Ok - a quick scan tells me Royal Blood (but they were a late replacement so understandable) and then the biggest name I can spot is The Streets

It's been known for a couple of small-medium sized acts but they tend to be added to Pukkelpop after Werchter is finished if my memory serves me right.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
