I have read social media replies from Tramlines saying acts on the Tother Stage are not clashing with certain acts on the main on the Friday.  For instance Hot Chip not clashing with Pulp.  Usually these 2 stages clash so maybe doing things differently this year.

I suspect Pulp will also do a longer set than usual Headliners.

Which social media was this so I can send it to my group, as we'd love to see Hot Chip before Pulp if thats the case.

I saw it in replies on FB

For those who went last year, how was the VIP set out, was it the same as 2023 where they reduced the space, or was it like the years before that where the entrance was closer to the main stage and the area was a lot longer with the toilets at the back and round the corner ?

So the end of the Leadmill in it's current guise is in sight... probably just after Tramlines.

Good to see they are making headway with moving autumn gigs - mainly to Foundry and Network - the former in particular is going to have a packed schedule for a while.

Sad to see this happen, but if any good comes out of it, we might end with a new era Leadmill (or Electric something or other), and the legacy tenants operating in partnership other mid-sized venues. Sheffield definitely needs a more dynamic gig scene, so fingers crossed.

Just seen the final gig at leadmill is announced as Miles Kane, sort of an anti climax.

TBF, he's been a regular at the Leadmill in recent years, and there's always a very remote possibility he might bring a friend or two

Had my reservations about Pulp showcasing a new album at Tramlines and losing some of the crowd.

Worry not, More is well, to coin a past Pulp title 'Different Class'.  After 4 listens feel like I have been catapulted back into the 90's.  Spike Island is up there with their best and a good few of the others will effortlessly grace Hillsborough Park.

It's a cracking album, up there with their best! The setlist from Glasgow looks fantastic too. It they manage anything like that it will be really special. I'm fully assuming a min 2 hours (given the precedent of Nutini last year). Can't wait!!

Meanwhile, half hoping Jarvis will show up at Hawley's Leadmill gig next week. They debuted A Sunset there in 22.

Been a bit of a busy weekend so had my first listen to it at work today. I always get filled with a bit of trepidation listening to albums like this from bands I really enjoy, more often than not I think they leave me underwhelmed but really, really impressed with it. Half of the songs could have come straight from the 90s, they haven't missed a beat!

Wondered if this would be over to the left hand side of the main arena where one of the big rides has been previously.

They had the access platform over there last year

Will the VIP area have a roof...?  Just aware Tramlines was the scene of an infamous washout a few years ago?

I very much doubt it. It would be too intrusive and block the view of the stage. You might get the odd bit of seating under cover, like the benches in the beer tent

Absolutely fantastic album on 1st listen, really seems they've put a lot of effort into it. Jarvis sounds great, cracking lyrics and music. Grown Ups is my favorite on 1st listen.

Can anyone recommend anywhere within walking distance of the site to arrange a pick up?

No idea, probably a good idea to walk 10 mins or so. This gives you an idea of road closures

Edit: web site says official pick up point is at Hillsborough Leisure Centre

Thanks

Just got massively caught out by road closures at Catfish and the Bottlemen at Heaton Park so that is very useful

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
