As expected no communication about delta, soho, etc. Haven't seen a billboard. No "you are now arriving to soho" stuff. Nothing

Disappointmen. They could have own decoration theme for each district, etc.

Anyway, for those of us who can't come, post a picture, comment on a performance...i would love to be part of it 🙂

Little Simz killed it, shame that most people close to the stage didn't appreciate her enough.

She did, waiting for charlie.

Great few days so far, good crowd. Love this fest, best festival in Europe.

What do you love about it? I absolutely hate it and I’m glad my one day visit is over. Charli was great, Little Simz smashed it and that really surprised me, thought she wouldn’t fit. But the festival is overcrowded, Main stage area already dusty af, trash everywhere and many people act like selfish assh*les. Couldn’t get into Revolut tent to see Empire of the Sun and heard f*ck all outside because every other bar has to play some loud EDM music. Never again…

So it's been only one day but:

I'm a bit annoyed by how they changed the location of a bunch of things, and I got lost a few times, but I guess I'll learn where everything is after 2-3 days.

I don't know why these changes are beneficial yet. It feels like there's less space. I don't know if that's because yesterday was crowded anyway, but it feels like there's less space in the entrance, less space by the main stage and small stages as well.

Jukebox and Dropyard looks cool. I also like that they turned The Buzz (former Europe Stage) 90 degrees so you can sit on that small hill while you're watching the performance.

Empire of the Sun was crazy, I was wondering if I wanted to see them for a few songs, but nah, you couldn't even walk next to the tent. It felt like it's one of those nights in the late 2010s at A38 when this happened more frequently. The problem was there was nothing exciting going on at 00:30, except Empire of the Sun, so they were the obvious choice for everyone. If you wanna see Justice, go there in time, and prepare for not being able to exit during the show. I was told Revolut sounds a lot better than last year, I'll check today.

Food and drinks cost similar than last year. Had a good double smashed at Burger Bárhol for something like 10 eur.

Charli xcx was better than expected, I loved how she mostly played for the camera. It was a bummer, however, that there's only 2 big screens on the main stage, they removed all other screens. The look and vibe of main stage feels a bit boring.

Peach beer is great, try it. It's going to be my go-to drink.

Party Arena looks good with that huge screen, but I also liked how the ceiling looked like in the previous tent, it felt original, now it's just a basic stage with a screen. But sounds great.

Beach is closed. Now I understand what someone meant by it: you can't access it at all during the festival, they make you turn back at the toilets. No beach this year. It's due to the Danube, it's not safe to go there unfortunately, high tide or something.

How is the new revolut stage like?

Saw on Reddit it is too small for acts like that, also everyone saying Colloseum sound was very quite

The Revolut sound was OK inside but I always thought it was stupid to have the sound desk and  bars blocking a big central area where people could be watching the show, particularly now its a smaller tent.

Is it a smaller tent? It felt smaller to me, but my mates said it felt the same as last year for them.
Although they also thought the Buzz is new so I can't trust them anymore haha

Loved the firat day. We went with a couple whose only experiences of festivals are Reading and Leeds, so they were blown away by what's on offer.

It was busy, busy, busy. We caught the train back to the city at 2.30am and it was standing room only.

Got there early for Empire of the Sun and probably the best act of the day, even better than Charli.

We were at the 2nd barrier for Charli and Simz and quite a lot of people were being pulled out in the first section - they were really packed in.

Revolut definitely smaller - maybe 30% smaller - and that sound stage  takes up a heck of a lot of room. Going to be a lot of disappointed people at Justice I suspect.

Looking forward to The Beaches today and Nelly should be a vibe.

Have fun everyone!

Colosseum sound was fking terrible during I Hate Models. Not only you could hear a fly fart during even the loudest bits but there was a whole bunch of delay and reverb. It really bordered on unenjoyable.

I think if felt smaller because it was more packed than usual… Empire of the Sun felrt criminal at this stage and I can’t imagine what Justice will be like.

The problem with the likes of Empire of the Sun and Justice is that it needs to be dark for the show, so you can't have them on the main stage in an afternoon or early evening spot, but  if you put them on as headliners many people would complain that they are not big enough for that.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
