F*cking hell, you've found a lot more than I have - I've got about 40 and you must be more than double that!

I might have to take another listen!

I won't be able to attend all of them but I discovered some interesting acts on the smaller stages. Revenge of the Synth is for the Star Wars fans, The Wellermen are for those who enjoy drinking songs, Joey Valence & Brae are some kind of Beastie Boys wannabes and there are some rock bands that play around 14-16 o'clock on Light Stage, Chroma Sound System is usually a rock/pop/hip-hop party also on Light Stage etc.

The official website also helped because I think it was for the first time ever when the artists have tags with their music genres on the timeline: https://szigetfestival.com/en/programs#/timeline

Im on 33, quite happy with that. As most Friday is light, but there's always 1 sziget day thats a light day.

For me that's Saturday. I normally have a sober day just to clean up a bit and stay healthy, and that's going to be it. Get up at 1, watch United's friendly, order a pizza. I'll turn up for Bohemian Betyars, then check the robot headliner guy at the main stage, then go straight back to sleep.

By the way, I tried to be way too smart with my ticket this year and messed it up.

Last year I bought the super early bird stuff for about a 100k HUF. They announced the line up, it was shite, people sold their tickets, so anyone who bought it during the summer on Ticketswap had to pay about 85k.

So this year when they started to sell the super early bird ones I was like nah. I'll be smart, I'll buy it from ticketswap, it's going to be cheaper.

I kept an eye on the ticketswap prices throughout the summer. 120k... 115k..110k...105k... We're getting there. 300 tickets left. People are going to panic and sell them on a lower price. Surely.

Then all of a sudden, last night or the one before, most tickets were sold. There were like 200 tickets on Ticketswap, this morning it was something like 36. So I panicked and bought one for 135k. (It's 160k on the website now).

Hours later, there are only 2 tickets under 150k, 12 6-day-tickets overall.

Anyone knows what's happening? Is it because of ticket touts? Or other people panicking? It was all gone in like 2 days, hundreds of tickets, so I think something fishy is going on.

Someone posted about the same thing on Reddit yesterday. Btw I bought my pass in October for 89k, that was perfect

Wouldn't surprise me if it was the festival itself buying them up and keeping the perceived value of a ticket at a high.

Crazy how many were on ticketswap last year, compared to this. All the way through last summer, hundreds and hundreds of them.

Either people are being more savvy, not buying before they are happy with the lineup. Or just not buying at all, id be very surprised if its because not many around.

They disappeared in two days. There's 0 left that is cheaper than the official price. There were hundreds a few days ago.

I bet someone's buying them and sells them for profit elsewhere. If you buy all of them, you can set the price (below the official, of course).

Big pop names sell a lot of tickets. CharliXCX, Chappell, Sabrina, Dua, Justin, Shawn... And because of names like these Sziget is gonna have first profitable fest since 2022.

I dont really think its 'big pop' sells, that can be said for big dance, big guitar, big hip-hop etc etc. If Sziget got Foo Fighters, Eminem and Garrix it sells also.

Sziget being a 6 day, before that being a 7 day festival. It has always had big headliners, Middle headliners and weaker headliners. Its always had weak days, which for me is just one on the Friday. Even then ive got Blossons, Krubi, josh Baker and Caribou.

No one can really complain about the level for headliners this year, except maybe the Friday.

Overall its a good lineup, the best since 2019 imo. Probably the best dance lineup its ever put on.

I've dreamt that sziget announced the replacements for Kneecap and Kiwanuka. In the dream it was Mogwai for Kneecap and an orchestra playing Kiwanuka's songs and songs by similar artists.

I would totally watch the orchestra version of Kiwanuka. I’d put a Gabor Hollerung conducted orchestra on, that guy is one of the most entertaining conductor out there.

(A few years ago I thought about it how fun it’d be to put an orchestra on the main stage to play the instrumental version of some popular songs, or even some more popular classical music)

"We’re currently still working on the schedule for the day Kneecap was originally set to perform. The updated program will follow soon."

So no new artists for Revolut on 11th?

So, in other words, they're not replacing Kneecap?

No, they're replacing Michael Kiwanuka on Friday

I know that, the 'they' I was referring to was Sziget, not The Kooks:

I reckon your guess at Kingfsher taking Kneecap's vacant slot might be correct judging by the above statement.

That would be perfect, as I could watch them and Refused. I'd expect Refused moving to the kneecap slot though, kingfishr playing the Refused slot.

Kingfishr would go down well, Sziget always has a big chunk of Irish visitors. Usually the ones I get talking to are from Ireland. 😃

Weak. Haven't been relevant in a very long time.

But you can't expect an artist with the same quality as Kiwanuka in such a short notice.

    • yes, but it will be called a care tax...much nicer name...and they will bin inheritance tax which no one likes even though most people don't pay it....and it will be used to pay for your granny. Burnham is obviously the saviour and will win labour another landslide because he's nice northern lad and not some sir c**t from surrey.
    • Hey, I correctly predicted the entire Bizkit Main Stage day months in advance 😝
    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
