Last year was a 7 day and they didn't send the press release until the Wednesday by the look https://www.vodafone.co.uk/newscentre/press-release/free-esim-network-trial-at-glastonbury-festival-2024/

Far from an expert but i took out a vodaphone esim last yr and in effect had 2 nos to toggle between. But handily could elect what sim i wanted to use for what so generally switched data to vodaphone and left calls/text on o2. Given all my comms is generally via whatsapp,  just added the vodaphone no. to a cple of family groups in xase of emergency.

You should be able to install the ESIM and then choose which services you want that and your existing SIM to use.

 

As it's mainly data I have an issue with on site I will set my ESIM to Data, and my existing O2 SIM for calls and SMS.  That way you will retain your current number for calls.

No.  As far as I can remember your WhatsApp will continue to work against your current number and you shouldn't need to change anything.

theyre pretty much going to announce right before the festival. they want you to be there to use it. if they just announce the promo and you just had to be in the uk to be  eligible then they would be out a ton of money because you could claim to be attending and not be. then you got a free week of usage. only giving out esims to a few thousand  in isolation is much better than 10's of thousands all over the country.

If it's like last year though it'll be available via the app too.  Nothing to stop anyone claiming it that way.

Dunno.  Possibly.  Just pointing out that it's not infallible to use by anyone.  Tbh I don't see why Vodafone wouldn't want as many people as possible to sign up and become potential long term customers.

Silly question but if they don't do the offer again, will I have enough time to sign up to their e-sim online and pay. I presume it's an instant thing if it's an e-sim?

Should be very quick....usually just involves a QR code emailed to download and install the ESIM, then activate it in phone settings.

Well of course. I forgot my phone is too new to add an esim to it. My carrier doesnt unlock iphones til after 60 days. Ive had it a month. Crumbs

Has anyone found the Vodafone eSIM on the App? My husband wants to put it in his phone as his didn’t work at all last year (I’m on Vodafone so mine was ok)
