It was the bastards who are currently in power with their draconian fascist anti protest/freedom laws. Heavily influenced and lobbied by the ridiculously powerful oil companies.

yeah, and not going to because public opinion....well public opinion where it seems to count anyway...JSO did a good job of pissing a lot of people off...and just wait till Reform gets in and net zero policies get binned altogether.

Of course it isn’t a “free lunch”. But neither is “dirty energy”. However, if we’re to have half a chance of survival, then it’s necessary

I think the point is Labour were saying it would reduce bills, but infact it looks like it will do the opposite, at least in the short term. it will be another reason for reform/Tories to argue for ditching net zero at next election.

‘Climateflation’ could push up UK food prices by more than a third by 2050, report says | Food & drink industry | The Guardian

sort of stuff that leads to civil disorder, riots, revolutions, war and armageddon.

people that have concerns about migration ( racists ) tend to fall into the category of being climate change deniers

There’s a legitimate argument that both electricity and food have been too cheap for a long time.

The average UK price per kWh is about 26p, so for example, doing a clothes wash costs about 30 to 60p. Imagine how much time and effort to do it by hand

its only legitimate if people were paid  better at the lower end .. otherwise it pushes more into poverty

IMO it’s rent prices that are pushing people into poverty, not food or utilities prices

Apparently average rent prices are about £300 per week, minimum wage is about £12 per hour. So that leaves only about £200 a week for other essentials.

Too many people innit.

Uneven distribution of wealth and resources. We have the resources to allow everyone to live comfortably, we don’t have the resources for relatively few to live luxuriously. We have the resources for everyone to have what they need, we don’t have the resources for everyone to have what they want or what they’re told they want/need
