Was that the big announcement ? Or is that tomorrow ?

I thought it was that some Taiwanese semiconductor corporation was investing in building a US factory.

Though I think tomorrow is the State of the Union where the President addresses Congress. Goodness knows how the f**k that's gonna go.

Well, he ain't f**king around. He's now paused all aid to Ukraine, I guess until Zelenskyy comes back in his best suit on his hands and knees, or maybe indefinitely for his mate Putin. Trade wars with his neighbours and China are kicking in, and Musk is gutting the federal state for the lols.

Sickening as it has been to watch, the fawning & grovelling from Macron, Starmer etc has been understandable and probably justified.

At what stage do we abandon that tactic and say "f**k you Trump?"

They'll probably never say f**k you to him, but will just have to be come less reliant on US for security and as a trading partner. Still too closely aligned on economics, security and intelligence to say f**k you completely.

One day US might need an ally or a friend, and they won't be there for them at this rate.

I don't think Trump will mind about that. He'll be gone in a few years, and him and his oligarch friends will have fleeced the world and left it in tatters.

Starmer appears to back the Trump peace treaty too. That could be that. Give it a few weeks before the desire to re-arm gets kicked into the long grass.

Don't think it's like that. Ukraine and europe all looking for a ceasefire, it's just the security guarantees that come with that ceasefire as Russia can't be trusted. Going forward european countries like us are just going to have to spend more, because US demand it to keep NATO together, and also because US cannot be relied on anymore.

There is no Trump peace treaty. There is only a Trump Ukraine surrender treaty.
