Good news. I don't really trust the West to properly hold Israel to account, but every step towards doing so is at least something.

Netanyahu talking about ordering an evacuation of Rafah before an invasion - this is an area where most of Gaza has already evacuated to. The bloke needs taking out.

Where exactly is he going to evacuate them to?

you seem to have missed one side saying they want to clear the land of the other side. and when they said it you said nothing, you didn't even ask where they were meant to go.

Not sure that Gazans are refusing, they don't have a choice...but I guess the fear is once they left they wouldn't be able to go back. Yes Egypt don't want them either, don't want to deal with a huge amount of refugees.

Anyway, it's literally near breaking point. Israel are clearly ignoring the ICJ court ruling, people are starving and dying from disease on top of everything else. Netanyahu is obviously ignoring US and others and is more bothered about keeping his coalition together and his political survival, and maybe he's waiting for Trump to get in. There needs to be an intervention.

not really a surprise  its gone  very badly for the countries that did take many (Lebanon, Jordan; Tunisia) and there's  no guarantee Israel will take them back).

There are supposed to be conditions on the military aid the US give to Israel

This line:

"The United States cannot provide security assistance to foreign governments or groups that commit gross human rights violations,"

is pretty damning of how well that's enforced.

"The fighting must stop now." Why now?, why not months ago BEFORE there were 1.4 million displaced, the consequences were obvious.

"an Israeli offensive there would be catastrophic", doesn't he think it's catastrophic already? He is a pathetic liar, he has backed the Israelis throughout despite the humanitarian disaster and now wants to appear to be concerned as the election approaches and he has an eye on the muslim vote. The worst kind of political opportunism.

because Israel wants the hostages back and Hamas aren't releasing them if asked nicely.

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?
