Spiritbox announced as main support for LP so Bad Omens aren't there.

It has been heard at least as said, however false that FIR, MM and Bad Omens are still to come as second stage, Korn day and sub respectively.

There is no reliability factor over what's true on this. MM is the one I'd doubt as I wouldn't see a space.

FIR would be a waste of a slot so hopefully they're doing Warped Tour instead, Bad Omens seem unlikely as they're yet to be announced for any EU fests and the same for Manson.

I forgot about Warped Tour. I can imagine some of the bands booked that probably took some away from Download an many will be very Green Day like. Literally wouldn't surprise me if they rope in NOFX for an absolute final hurrah.

According to Andy, 4 bands have asked to headline in 2026 already and he said 3 of them 4 will play.

Ghost, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden.

I'm sure he said though not much different and they would be happy with any of them.

My prediction is:

2026: Ghost, LP, Maiden

2027: Limp Bizkit, Parkway Drive,BMTH

Am I the only person a little perplexed about Lorna Shore's placement on the 1st poster?

The website had them on the 2nd Stage along with Within Temptation, Sex Pistols, The Darkness and Steel Panther, but they're considerably lower than all of those, being placed between two presumed 4th Stage headliners.

If we cast our minds back to the 1st announcement for 2024, you had Thy Art Is Murder and a logo band who ended up being 4th down on the 2nd Stage.

If we follow this logic, maybe we have more logo sized bands left than most people assume?

Manson is required to attend a civil trial in LA throughout June 2025 where he's being sued by a former assistant, so summer festival appearances would be unlikely as he needs to be in court.

Is the Download Forum down or something? Being met with a white page a bunch of blue text

Network error fetching the style sheets that make the page look... not like that.

You'd think they'd learn to store them locally when the whole forum was in italics for a few days for similar reasons!

What's the chances we are still waiting for 2 second stage headliners and Steel Panther subbing second?

Im still betting whoever the Saturday sub at RAR is, is the same band we are waiting for to their sub or headline second at Download. I wouldn't guarantee Bullet are subbing Korn either.

Given Bullet have January dates and been announced I'm sure sure why a sold out FIR wouldn't be.

I think we’ve got our Second Stage headliners in Sex Pistols, Steel Panther and Within Temptation.

Pistols are in-demand and it’s a pretty special deal.

WT are about to do their own arena tour.

Steel Panther pulled a massive crowd last time they headlined the stage in 2022 and as woeful as they are, there’s not any reason for them to slip below that.

I think The Darkness are one of the subs and potentially Lorna Shore too but I could see them not actually being a logo act like a few ended up not being last year.

I think we could get Motionless In White as a sub and maybe someone else.

The FIR thing could just be their/their management’s preference. The O2 show isn’t quite sold out yet and they might want to actually sell it out so have held back. Also, they might just be saving the last sub for a future announcement to give it some extra weight. We didn’t get Bizkit and Shikari, for example, until later last year.

Pistols I agree. WT were part of a co-headline tour with Evanescence that included The 02 and they didn't put them headlining second oh a different day or 3rd down main then which I expected. In fairness, I'd argue and it's not even an argument really, Evanescence especially should have really subbed.

Steel Panther did bit as pointed out they are just doing a standard academy tour this time round. The Darkness are likely but they'd be a weak sub.

If that's the case then FIR could be that.

The absolute ideal scenario is that Rise Against are being held back until after their February tour and I can see that as their most frequent break from playing is 3 years. Either 4th under Don Broco or subbing second stage. I don't think they'll be Sunday though unless they are subbing second and to be honest they would be a good alternative to Spiritbox

Within Temptation did that tour with Evanescence and subbed that stage but they’re about to play Wembley, Nottingham Arena, Leeds Arena and Cardiff on their own so that makes them big enough to move up to headliner.

The Darkness are a perfectly fine sub. Always pull a crowd and are playing Wembley themselves.

But does it matter whether they did it with them or not? It was a co-headline tour so no reason to think surely WT wouldn't have got an equivalent slot. Also, it's very clear to see that co-headline tour was booked as that as well for Download as they both got 1hr 10 minutes as and no other band did playing second down that weekend. You might be right though, I personally see them on main this time around and that tour would suggest probably 3rd but that toured hasn't sold out out at all. There are standing tickets left for every venue comfortably and seating tickets every venue as well.

Certainly suggests they've over played their venues.

The Darkness have got down on their tour dates they are playing the Friday, not sure if anyone has put it already.

To be honest so do Bullet and we would be very surprised if Bullet played under Green Day and not one of the other days. I mean give me two more subs to come on Saturday and Sunday by all means but Green Day, Weezer, Bullet and Jimmy isn't happening.

I don't think we will see Iron Maiden at Download again. They've realised they can book cheaper headliners and still sell tickets.

Ghost, Blink 182, Parkway Drive

I think you'll see Maiden one last time. They've realised they can book a capped festival at 80k instead of 110k too. But I guess that depends where by if the cheaper headliners are cheap enough they only need to sell that many tickets. I can't see Download though getting mass undercards without bands taking slots higher up than expected without getting big hitters still and the cost isn't going to come down.

Nah I think they’ll always aim big initially and only resort to smaller bookings if they struggle to lock down the mega headliners like they did this year and seemingly again next.

Reckon ‘26 will be one new headliner (Ghost) and then two of your standard bigger headliners if they’ve already got stuff in place and aren’t scrambling for options.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
