That is definitely a temptation 😂

Anyway, quick detour of conversation before going back to arguing about Korn again. There's a band on the announcement that will potentially get a more negative reaction than Sleep Token on social media

Either McFly or Avril Lavigne I guess.

Any clues on what stage the act is playing, a clue on the artist or why they'll get a more negative reaction?

I hope it isn’t McFly because Busted one year followed by them is just exactly what Slam Dunk did. Also, Busted get a pass for having a bit of rock cred I feel because of Charlie whereas McFly don’t.

McFly are a better live band and would go down very well. Stick them main stage for the Green Day day. Heavier live and have better songs than Busted. Have a listen to Corrupted.

It's not that Korn are bad. They're just uninspiring, and probably in 2025, the smallest headliner download have ever had. I have been at 2010, 14/15/16/17/18/19 2022 and 2023 downloads (11-13 uni years, no money) and if it is GD, ST and Korn as headliners, that is definitely the 3 weakest set in history.

I appreciate that is subjective - but i like all 3 of those bands, so feel it's not from any personal bias. Ive never seen green day so will at least be getting a day ticket for that. but as has been previously mentioned. korn have done nothing to elevate to headline since their last appearance. i feel you can get away with sleep token OR Korn alongside Green day and one other 'premium' act. but both? this will be a low selling event. Download is my second home but I think copping has had his day. if he can't get the bands that european festivals and US festivals get, then move on.

I would say 2024 even though you didn't attend it is weaker as ST sell St least to the level of all 2024s and Green Day sell way over any of those years.

If I have to sit through one of these to get to the front for Green Day I'm not going to be happy lol

Both good live, you'd enjoy them and would be great warmups for GD. Especially Yungblud as he'd win a lot of the crowd over.

My first guesses were 30 STM or MM. I don't see why FIR would get a bad rep. A heavier rock band at a heavier festival.

I can get passed Busted but McFly no.

Ronnie has a bad rep. Busted and McFly are literally touring together. If Busted can play so can McFly.

However on the FIR thing I don't think they're the act Yeast is talking about as everyone is expecting them anyway and I feel like they have a pretty big/hardcore following like ST etc.

Could see it being Marilyn as he sells the tickets. Could easily sub Korn or ST too.

I would have to admit that MM would actually not be bad for me as I've only seen him once and it wasn't in the best time of his career plus his support in aid to be close was awful.

Who's it annoying? As you mentioned ST I wonder if it's the Facebook crowd, in which case I'd lean more towards Yungblud or MGK. I don't think they'd hate Manson being announced..

I don't think it's going to be a "cancelled" band as unfortunately a lot of download goers don't seem to care about that

It's more likely going to be a band that won't go down well with Downloads older audience

Got to be a Yungblud, MGK or Thirty Seconds To Mars. I honestly wouldn't be annoyed at any of them being booked.

I'm not the main audience but anyone except for Yungblud would be annoying as I reckon this would relate to Green Day sub. I don't think the festival is going to struggle to find accommodation subs for the others two days and I think Deftones Saturday is a very good good/maybe even assumption already.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
