Parking pass

Sorry if asked before and guess its hidden in another thread but we are 70% sure we will drive this year but not sure yet. Is there any loss to buying a parking pass later or has it got to be done with balances to just pay one delivery charge?

I think they’re supposed to knock the price up a few quid if you buy on the gate, we forgot one year and they never even checked though.

Almost definitely this year if they don’t already due to the lower VAT rate ending at the end of this month

I forgot to buy one in 2017 and ordered one via See about 2 weeks before the festival.  Think the only sting was another booking and postage fee, but the actual pass was the same price.

Hang on so 100% you can buy one on the gate at cost price?

yes, they want you off the roads and nicely parked.

Thanks both.

In that case why would anyone every buy one in advance?!

its less hassle for everyone to buy in advance, taking money slows down the cars getting off the road.

Is it quick to get one at the gate or does it take a while?

If you have the cash ready, it takes about 5 seconds. Usually at the point when they stop you coming in anyway. We've generally already ordered one (and have again this year), but the odd time have added an extra car so needed to pay on the way in, it's dead simple, but obviously easier for everyone if the sticker is already displayed.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
