Just watching this Mimi Webb on iPlayer. Hate to sound like yer da but it's mad that ten years ago we had the likes of SOAD, Deftones and NIN playing high main stage slots, and we've gone from that to stuff like this high up the bill.

Surely those acts sold more tickets than someone like Mimi Webb.

No doubt. Those acts would shift tickets wherever they'd play.

I've said it before, it's no co incidence that the festival has gone in a more pop direction since V was cancelled.

The organisers got it right in 2019 as there was plenty of something for everyone, be it rock, pop or rap but since then it's just pandered to Capital FM listeners and TikTok addicts. Probably for the best that Rage pulled out last year because it's just no longer the festival for that kind of act.

Had some of this on today. Frank was Frank, didn't do a bad job with an early slot, noticeable how his Reading audience has considerably shrunk since he last played but I guess the crowd is getting younger as he's getting older.

Enjoyed Sea Girls, not heard them before but will investigate further.

Mimi Webb was dull. I've no objection to pop at festivals but it needs to at least be interesting.

You and Me At Six currently on. The very definition of meh but seem to be going down well.

You think so? The crowd is pretty dead.

How can YM@6 be so high up on the bill. Disaster

BBC are putting out a documentary about Reading and Leeds by the looks of it.

I wonder if they will acknowledge the festival's history prior to 2018.

Group of actors next to us outside MSE done a film shoot for that new Dragon Soop type drink, doesn’t feel right this year at all

They'd also increase the ticket price by a large amount. I doubt Mimi Webb is that expensive an act to get and she's relevant to the crowd that go to the festival nowadays.

Do not get Wet Leg at all who i've just watched. That Chaise Long song is horrific.

I’ve eaten mashed potatoes with more personality than Wet Leg.

They all sound the same anyway. Just one to do a few sets over the weekend.

V unprofessional unless like i say he has an excuse (fallen down the toilet for eg like poo girl of 2009.)

Poo Girl! The wonderful before-time of attending a festival but leaving your phone at home for fear of it getting destroyed or stolen; then the rumours of Poo Girl spreading throughout the festival grounds and everyone trying to figure out where she was. Simpler times. 😄

    • Mount Kimbie were really good. Great Sound, great crowd. A nice way to end this day.
    • Yeah what was up with Jai. Not great tbh. Would like to hear other opinions bc I didn't really like him
    • Ethel Cain and Brutus to bookend the day were my highlights. Had been listening to Brutus a bit over the last few weeks and had no clue the vocalist was the drummer, insane workload! Ethel was just other-worldly, and even managed to shut the yappers in the crowd up.   Lana was late, flat, but I was stood near the back and away from the masses and it was alright. Ocean Boulevard stood out, not least because her backing singers seemed to know how to perform better.    Even stuck around for most of The National and really enjoyed a band I've never got on board with before. Just so much good music happening!
