I'm not doubting the boat, I'm doubting you being on it. £100 bet to charity are you taking it or not?

no, cos you're not honest enough for me to trust to pay up when you lose.

Of course it is, but can't you see that the fault lies with the big companies, advertising agency's etc

Sadly most can't see how we're being manipulated to make the few rich.

I agree the fault is with big firms and governments and generally speaking someone getting a few flights isn’t going to be the problem. But if you say ‘lifestyle attitude’ is a problem then you are kinda placing it on normal people too.

you can't see how some are being manipulated to have gainful employment(not sure you'd recognise it?)

so you're just trolling then!

when you stop thinking.

ok, so you've spent all day trolling me for saying i'm going to visit my brother, cos that's what a two faced arsehole you are.

I’ve never said any different - I don’t plan to stop flying short haul once or twice a year unless it becomes illegal. I’ll make my own choices.

I think you’ll find it’s you that’s the two faced arsehole acting all holy with your trail of past flying emissions behind you - why not go and tell your son not to fly or your bruv to get another job that’s not catastrophic to the environment.

Fair comment

The best way to stop these big firms is to stop buying their sh*t, which is partly where ‘lifestyle attitude’ come in.

Yeah it is in a way but the only people that suffer then are workers as those companies sales and profits decline they will cut the workforce.

Surely the crap on this thread lately is as bad

⚠️  As a mod team, we've taken the decision to permanently lock this thread, nearly three years after it was created.

It's taken us through a lot of turbulent times, not least of which the pandemic, ongoing wars and conflicts, the cost of living crisis, and increasing climate change.

There's been a lot of discussion, at times pointed, and we believe it's in the interest of moving the forum forward that separate threads exist for several of the topics discussed here.

Thread creation is by no means limited to the mod team, so if there's something you'd like to see discussed or exist in its own thread, feel free to start one or request it. You can message any of the mods personally at any time.

Thanks everyone. We hope you'll continue to join in as we try to make eFestivals even better. Cheers. ⚠️

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
