She is basically saying whats the point in discussing a two state solution with people who are hell bent on a one state solution not involving Isreal.

She should of said Hamas though rather than palestinas.

who wants a state next door throwing bombs over the border.

its the same the other way Palestinians don't want to accept 'the catastrophe'.(which they'd be doing by accepting a two state solution).

You have to pretend its all easily fixed just by asking for a ceasefire.

even abolishing Israel wouldn't fix the problems, there's then the problem of where the Israeli's go.

Interest rates expected to be lowered.   Big win for Sunak.  Expected to drop to 4.25 by end of next year.

I think two year deal is the best bet right now.  I am very lucky I am on 1.6% until mid 2016 so I am hopeful I will ride out the worse of all this.  Went for a five year fix just at the right time.

i've let the wife sort the new mortgage details; looks like she been making all the right decisions.

Russia definitely seems to have the upper hand against Ukraine now. Looks like Zelensky can't rely on US for support anymore, and if Trump wins next year that will definitely be it, and EU support and a way into EU for Ukraine is being held back by Orban. Meanwhile Russia's economy has held up well as it now looks away from Europe for trade, and an all out victory for Russia next year is looking more possible. What comes after that who knows...

Not another one!

It’ll be a big test for Sunak in the red wall. Not a big majority either. It’s yet another Tory being involved in some sort of scandal.

Looks like they’ve stayed the same for now.

It’s understandable for people to be concerned over their finances especially when the BoE didn’t have to put rates up and everything else is going up in price so much as well.

    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
