I reckon Corbyn/McDonnell definitely had a big influence in terms of economic policy, although no one would ever want to admit it. Their manifesto was very popular.

Doesn't matter. The dollar is the worlds reserve currency, you need to buy dollars to take part in global trade and we are a net importer. I get the activist wing of his party might not accept that but its the truth.

Can someone with knowledge of the internal workings of the Labour Party please explain what’s the point in conference voting for a motion of the leadership can veto it? I’m sure there’s reasons why it’s like that but is there a way for it to be forced into the manifesto at the Clause V meeting?

Conference motions are not binding.

Cause you're always here, and I can't resist a peak...but it's always just some shitty little comment about Ozanne... especially when a pile on is starting. You're a fucking prick bentos.

Yeah it's defo me that's always here 🤣 numpty.

Honestly don't care about ur opinion of me, you seem like a total c**t tbh. I'm not the only one with an issue with ozanne, theres about 2 people a day atm. Hes already seen off a few regulars in this thread, soon it'll just be u and him posting ur twitter feeds at each other lol.

the only contribution you ever make is to bitch about Ozanne, and he doesn't even read your posts or interact with you, which must be frustrating. And you're all over this place like a rash if there's some beef with Ozanne and someone else. Maybe post on the other thread about some news or something. lol

You are right, all he ever seems to do is post about me and even then he barely gets a response. It must be disheartening for him to be here so often and hardly anyone responds to him.

He must’ve jealous of all the responses I get on here.

He's made some great music and I respect him for that, but I cannot get my head around his thinking here.

If his rhetoric is indistinguishable to that coming from the Kremlin, is he anything other than a Putin apologist?

Wouldn't surprise me if there are more cancellations, and as this is his last tour, it is a bit of a sad ending to his career. On the other hand, I'd still like to hear Comfortably Numb live again...

I've found the position of his and others to be head-scratching. By all means, there's been imperialist pro-war tendencies for ages in the West, but it reads like he's giving Russia a pass when they've gone this far into such acts and at this time, that feels wholly ridiculous.

For the record, he's saying the gigs aren't cancelled and are still planned. But if this is already going on, it's hard to feel there's a great enthusiasm for him turning up there.

Yes, that must be it. Jealous of yours and Starmer's increasing popularity.

Is Italian election result (and Sweden's) a good argument that PR isn't necessarily the greatest system?

Italy has an odd FPTP/PR hybrid, although I would have assumed these results they've had might well have come through both methodologies. Their 2018 ballot producing a coalition of the populist 5 Star and Northern League parties was a hint that they'd gone down this road.

I'm aware it's a pretty terrible look for the system to birth a post-fascist leadership earning the admiring eyes of the likes of Putin and Orban, although Italy's record of chop-change turbulent politics makes me think this group will fall apart at some point before their next ballot. Hell, 3 different coalitions of different ideological make-up since 2018 and a snap choice to run out Draghi does make you wonder what we'd get.

I'm aware the argument about PR's flaws could well return back to 2015 in the UK tbf, given I think a PR system would likely have created a Tory/UKIP coalition at that ballot. Admittedly their policy remit probably wouldn't be far off what the Tories became after jettisoning Cameron and May, but still.

Maybe he wishes I liked him as much as I like Starmer.

I miss Worm who used to post on Discussions. His arguments with Neil were classic. I find some of the recent posts on here to be comedy gold.

Even so this is just an internet forum and a safe space. I troll (yes troll) right wing and conspiracy sites on FB. I have had a few serious threats which have caused me to back out of rallies.

There’s almost 0 political discussion here when you and ozanne are about (which is all the time). For example today, you’ve simply posted ‘god save the king’ about 5 times 😂😂 Meanwhile ozanne has just been being a c**t to crazyfool to the point he leaves. I think we both know why you put up with him the way you do but I cba being that harsh on you both. There’s defo a codependency thing going on tho. Any attempt to move to the gen news discussion you 2 just appear there anyway.

you read all my posts, we both know it. Most of the responses you get at the moment are old regulars leaving the thread cause they don’t want to be anywhere near you. It’s like 4 people in the last week 😂😂😂

Lol poster moaning about lack of political chat whilst posting nothing politics related. Does he ever post anything worthwhile?

Unlike me I share helpful information, insightful thoughts on the political going ons of the day and share my passion for politics. No wonder he can’t stop talking about me.

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
