The red flag was used to divide people.

Tory boy is upset because Labour are looking electable.

Anyway, Labour also announced today they would renationalise the railways when they are back in power.

There’s been some really good policies that have been announced at conference, you’d thought people would be happy to discuss that rather than singing.

You’re honestly the most passive aggressive wee guy in the world. Always having digs at @Crazyfool01 cause you don’t like what you hear. He’s always stuck up for you when you’ve been called out for being a total fruitcake but you just can’t take anyone disagreeing with you or taking a slight dig at starmer

Is Italian election result (and Sweden's) a good argument that PR isn't necessarily the greatest system?

Quite the opposite.

Neither government will be half as radical in their rightwards lurch as the UK under Truss or the US under Trump precisely because the fash rely on the votes of other right parties.

In the UK and the US the fash were able to gain total control and reform whatever they want despite winning a minority of the popular vote and controlling a minority of their party’s representatives.

I've been reading this thread for a while, and Ozaane comes across as a troll, I think. Telling someone like crazy fool to calm down in two consecutive posts is deliberately antagonistic, not to mention the insistence on Labour/Starmer doing no wrong on actions that they would clearly attack the Tories for doing - so I'd say just stop feeding him.

Ozanne, if you're not a troll, you should really have a think about how you're coming across in the way you structure your posts, it's not a good look. If you are a troll, well played.

Associating the flag with just racist dickheads hands them the flag as there symbol

I don't particularly care about the flag but not everyone who uses the flag is a facist FFS

Unbelievably he isn't a troll, he has just dedicated literal weeks of his life to posting his twitter feed and Starmer-love in this thread and the old covid one. He seems to have no real interest in music or festivals and doesn't post about that elsewhere on the forum. A truly strange guy.

I’m pretty sure he’s doing it for a reaction.

Labour have to pull out all the stops...and that may include some patriotism that some will find uncomfortable.

And there is plenty of policy now...but policy really isn't enough...a lot of it is mood music, make people feel optimistic, secure...and that labour don't hate the things they like...like the fucking royal family. They need to win over voters that have never voted labour, as well as the ones who used to.

    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
