Kwarteng for Chancellor. Badenoch, Mordaunt and Tugenhadt will probably be in there too.

Redwood arguing we need to spend like crazy in the telegraph today. Saying our fiscal rules were really only there to keep inline with the EU's fiscal stability pact and now we've left it doesn't matter.

i think they've only announced reversing Rishi's NI and corporation tax rises so far. Bigger issue for me though is the U.K will probably have to join one of the trading blocks at some point so any move away from the EU probably takes us towards NAFTA and the U.S.

Whoever is going to come in is going to have to spend lots...so Truss will probably spend loads on cutting taxes, but will also surely be paying more in benefits to lower income households. And then there's all the other stuff that needs money.

Feels like the Russia-Ukraine war could be heading into a new, more dangerous chapter...the drone attacks in Crimea, the assasination in Moscow, the nuclear plant and the upcoming Ukranian independence day...if Russia are getting beaten they could lash out.

an election would be risky, tories have been trailing in the polls for month, most tory mps wouldn't want it, cos they don't want to lose their job.

yeah, probably...they'll probably hope that things start improving for the economy next year and they'll be able to say this is down to Truss' genius economic plan.

whatever i think lots of people will think the tories do ok with cost of living, cos things won't be as bad as a lot of the doom-mongering.
