So basically a government should only ever serve those who vote for them and not the whole country. What total rubbish! A government's duty is to do the best by the whole country not just those who agree with them. 

Although seeing the way the Tories have handled the pandemic they clearly are with Libby.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

As an aside, the vast majority of the country (ie. Glastonbury Festival and it's attendees are an insignificant number in comparison) would rather that they didn't embezzle and ineptly squander public funds either. However, that will also fall on deaf ears too.

If arts funding is decided on the basis of politics it smacks of authoritarianism. Purves’ proposition is specious at best but it is typical of the sort of crap journalism that is increasingly published without much reaction or comment. That worries me.
